I took 6 months to transition to vegetarian and another 6 months to transition to vegan. It's been almost a year now. I still have cravings and once or twice slipped up. I was sick for days the last time because it wreaked havoc on my intestinal tract. Now I make vegan sausage from scratch for when I have a craving. Even my carnivore hubby likes those! I also keep Trader Joe's meatless meatballs in the freezer, they are now vegan. Trader Joe's also has good vegan Tomato Basil Marinara Sauce that I keep on hand for when I am rushed and don't have a lot of time to cook from scratch.

Good point about the slip us! At least you now know!
I'm doing this gradually. I'm not going to just empty out my freezer. We don't eat meat all the time and I'm already pretty good at vegetarian meals. I've never attempted vegan, though. Slow and steady wins the race!

I also must agree with my teammates..I recently slipped and went back to eating some meat and I felt horrible, gained a ton of weight and had no energy. I am definitely so glad I changed to a vegetarian lifestyle and am also glad I had my slip up because now I can see really how my diet does effect how my body acts and feels.

I'm at the point in my life where I feel like I need to find myself again. I spend all of my time making sure everyone else is cared for and has what they need. Honestly, I don't even know who I am anymore! I'm not taking care of me. So, I'm going to try to refrain from talking about friends and family as an effort to only focus on myself on SP. I am working towards a vegetarian lifestyle and would love to try to prepare vegan foods. I even asked for a vegan cookbook for my birthday.
Now I'm off to introduce myself to some other groups!
