Hello SAVETHEKALES!! Two years ago I completed my fourth marathon, then my family packed our bags and moved to a new home in a new city. The move changed my entire schedule and totally disrupted my life. I took about a year-and-a-half off from running. I just had no desire to run (plus my dog chewed up my insoles and running shoes which provided me another excuse). During that time period I put on weight which made it uncomfortable for me to run. I tell you this as just last week I started running again. Well, it is actually a run/walk, but I completed it for 30 min two times last week and so far once this week. It is getting easier and I feel so much better. Put on your shoes, do what you can, and you will improve!!!

Several years ago I injured my knee and started biking to strengthen it. The knee is in good shape now but I still don't run. Biking does little to strengthen the core but it is a lot easier on my old knees (and ankles, and hips). Head winds and evening eating are my biggest challenges at this time. Hi everyone! I've been vegetarian and vegan for nearly 12 years now. I write a vegan blog and even have a half-hour cooking show that airs in Pennsylvania (and youtube).
I used to run several years back, then a knee injury made it impossible for a long time, and I've been scared, or maybe just embarrassed, to start again. Over the years, I've lost about 65 lbs from my heaviest weight, but I could stand to be in better shape, especially if my job is promoting a vegan lifestyle -- I want to show people how great it is, and how great you can look and feel!
