Hello SAVETHEKALES!! Two years ago I completed my fourth marathon, then my family packed our bags and moved to a new home in a new city. The move changed my entire schedule and totally disrupted my life. I took about a year-and-a-half off from running. I just had no desire to run (plus my dog chewed up my insoles and running shoes which provided me another excuse). During that time period I put on weight which made it uncomfortable for me to run. I tell you this as just last week I started running again. Well, it is actually a run/walk, but I completed it for 30 min two times last week and so far once this week. It is getting easier and I feel so much better. Put on your shoes, do what you can, and you will improve!!!
Welcome! Thank you for spreading the word. The world is better as a result. Several years ago I injured my knee and started biking to strengthen it. The knee is in good shape now but I still don't run. Biking does little to strengthen the core but it is a lot easier on my old knees (and ankles, and hips). Hi everyone! I've been vegetarian and vegan for nearly 12 years now. I write a vegan blog and even have a half-hour cooking show that airs in Pennsylvania (and youtube).
I used to run several years back, then a knee injury made it impossible for a long time, and I've been scared, or maybe just embarrassed, to start again. Over the years, I've lost about 65 lbs from my heaviest weight, but I could stand to be in better shape, especially if my job is promoting a vegan lifestyle -- I want to show people how great it is, and how great you can look and feel!
