Use the nutrition tracker! There are a lot of both healthy and unhealthy vegan options, and the tracker will help you adjust to eating everything in moderation. Good luck! :)

Hi, Bonnie, welcome to the team! I love mock tuna salad, too.

Do you prefer to make vegan versions of former omnivore favorites, or have you been trying out uniquely plant-based recipes, too?

not only should you watch out for added oils, but don't eat the fake cheeses, and limit the amount of nuts you eat until you have lost the weight.

I found that the way to lose weight is to lose the fat. I don't use added oil at all. I let the fat that naturally occurs in food be the only fat that I ever eat and when I began eating that way the fat started falling off of my body and I reached my goal weight. Some folks will tell you that you need fat so your body can use the nutrients in the food. But the good news is the food comes with the right amount of fat already in it. Veggies, fruits, beans and whole grains come with fat, protein and nutrients in just the right amounts to make you healthy. Remember Gorillas who are 99% just like us eat nothing but leaves and roots and things they find in the woods and they don't run around worrying about their protein intake. They grow strong and tall and do fine.

Vegan does not necessarily mean healthy. fatfreevegan.com and happyherbivore.com are both blogs where you can find healthy recipes that use no added fat. Good luck to you in your journey to health.

hi I am Bonnie after seeing the film, fork over knifes I decided it was time to change..i thought just giving up meat would be an instant weight loss experience----not quite. so here I am determined to make the change and lose the weight. My sister in law is vegan and she is great in helping me learn more and with recipes...oneof my favorite is taking chick peas and mashing them up,adding some pickle relish and vegan naynoise and eating it or wrapping it into lettuce leaves---has that tuna salad taste lol
