I'm pretty new to SparkPeople and a long-term vegetarian as well. I found that reducing my reliance on dairy and eggs as protein sources has helped me reduce fat and calories. And I've also had to face the fact that I actually do need to exercise (grin). The equation does have TWO sides, exercise and nutrition!

I've been a vegetarian for over 20 years. I started because I began reading about animal cruelty and then the health benefits were a bonus! I'm a native New Yorker and my husband & I moved to Florida in 2002. A few years later the pounds started packing on....and here I am 30+ pounds more than when I moved here.
