Wow! Reading your story felt like I was reading my own life! I, too am 22 with the same "problems". I joined this site after talking to my doctor about losing weight. I have never used one of these before because I am usually very good about my diet. I am currently studying to become a Registered Dietitian, so I never thought I would have a weight problem. I'm just looking to lose 10 pounds, but nevertheless it's those 10 pounds that are making me feel sluggish and tired. My TERRIBLE sweet tooth gets me as well, which is why I also chose to try a vegan diet (no eggs = no baked goods unless I make them vegan-friendly).
Good luck with your goals! Remember that they are attainable and you will learn how to control yourself around sweets, especially if you get enough protein and a variety of foods. If you are looking for any nutrition advice/recipes, just send me a shout-out

There are now a growing number of elite athletes who are vegan, I would suggest you research them as a potential role model. Also, don't get super hungry without thinking ahead about good food to have on hand. As a student, you may find that this is when you'll fall off the wagon just to quell the hunger pains. good luck -march

hi everyone. im 22 years old, 5'2" and 131 lbs. i have always had a muscular/ athletic build, but since coming to college, i have gained 13 pounds. i was never over 120 in high school. i was 118 my freshman year, and now in my senior year i weigh 131 lbs. i like to be active and i play a club sport and run and bike recreationally, however i have been gaining about 3-4 lbs each year. i have recently tried switching to a vegan diet partly for animal rights reasons and partly for health reasons. i however have not been eating a very balanced vegan diet. i rely far too much on carbs and lack protein and variety in my diet. i also have a TERRIBLE sweet tooth and lack self control when it comes to snacking.
my goals are more to live a healthier lifestyle than to lose weight, but i would hope that some weight loss would come along with that. i hope i can stick to this plan and actual remain an active member on this site! ive struggled with commitment to healthy eating plans before.
