I'm like that, I don't bother planning much, pretty spontaneous in how I 'roll'. LOL I did ok. Saturday I only worked a short shift, so I got in a solid 7 mile run. I went out past where you are and down along mayberry and back. And I rode my commuter to work later that day. Today I had a long day, so no running/riding. I hope to get out quite a bit this week coming up though. Tomorrow afternoon I'm hoping to go for a hike up peavine with another lady and her dog. If that falls through I may run. I neeeed to get my bikes out. I think I'm in a rut with them. I don't have any excuse. Even with cold weather. I have the gear. Just lacking the 'oomph'.

So how did you do this weekend?

I did a run on Steamboat Saturday and then a ride along the Power Line road above Steamboat today. My problem with getting together to do something is always that I just go out the door when I have available time and rarely plan anything.

Sounds like you are running a lot further then I am. 3 miles is about the best I do right now. Verdi Loop sounds good. But tomorrow I have my son, since he is out of school. We will have to see if we can do something later.

Creetch, on my days off, which tend to be mid week, I try to get out in the mornings. When I work, I get out late afternoon, early evening. I work for the Raleys up there on Mayberry, and my schedule is not very stable right now. Tomorrow I am off, and plan either a long run or a bike ride in the morning around 9. Friday I will probably run after I get off work, which is after 3pm. Saturday morning I will also be out, since I do not even go to work til 4:30 that afternoon. See? My schedule is everywhere right now. As for tomorrow, it's a toss up. I want to either do a long run, 8+ miles, or I want to do the verdi loop. Haven't been on a bike in a long time and I should see how I do.

IVERUNAMUCK: When do you tend to get out? I'm pretty flexible, but have 2 rug rats to work around.

It was nice out today. Actually we rode downtown because I came back from Steamboat and told my kids they could not stay inside any longer on a day like today. I made them shut down the video games, hooked up my little girl's trail-a-bike and we took off. I've got to work at making sure they are healthy too.

Yup, that's the group. The previous summer I rode with them quite a bit, but not this last summer. I used to be heavy into bikes, and need to rekindle my love. I was eyeball deep in bikes for a few years, my ex boyfriend and I had a bike shop in Elko, and he managed a couple here, and got me into it. I've been in mtn bike races, even won one. But I'm sad to say I am heavier now and any skills I had are pathetic. Last year I only did one century ride, the Chico century in Cali. Probably doing that again this spring. I hope!

Glad you got a run in! I did too and it felt gooooood! Running or riding tomorrow, not sure. It'll be creaky, I pushed it today. But it was so pretty outside! emoticon

Braga76~I'd welcome company for anything. If you haven't run in a long time, start with the couch to 5k program. I did, it was great. I have never run before in my life. It got me going! If you'd like a buddy to hang out with you while you are working on that, let me know!

I did get out on Steamboat today to get a run in finally. It was not a disaster. :-)

Then when I got home my kids wanted to ride down to downtown, so we went down there on our bikes.

That wasn't the Tuesday Night Ride Group by any chance? I rode with them a bunch this summer. Some pretty hardcore riders in that bunch.

Hi! I just joined today.. I live in old Southwest. I have not run in years, and need to get going again (HELLO, sedentary lifestyle, hello 15 pounds). I don't know if I can do several miles yet, so don't know whether I could keep up with you -but once I get myself up to that mark again, would love to join you for a run in Idyllwild!

I mountain bike as well. I have a fantastic mtn bike that hasn't seen hardly any riding in quite awhile. I used to ride on Peavine a lot when I lived out there off of north virginia, but since moving into town more, I don't get out there as much. I have run and rode on steamboat, I like that. I used to ride with a mountain bike group but haven't done that in over a year. Like lots of things, I don't do them like I used to and I'm looking to get back into it again.

If you ever want a jogging or riding buddy let me know. I'm over your way a lot. I'm running out there this afternoon, and probably tomorrow too.

I like the Verdi ride as well. I want to start trail running, but have not done too much to get anywhere with that. I mountain bike and that tends to be on Steamboat this time of year.

Hi! Oh cool. I often run right by there on the path and wind through the neighborhood and down mayberry. Riding wise, I like going to verdi, no stoplights, a few stop signs. And it's pretty out there. Or I'll head south to the other end of town, or out to the north valleys. I snapped a piece on the front derailleur on my road bike and need to replace it. It's still rideable I just have to keep an eye on my gears. I haven't been on it in awhile, mostly just been jogging along. How about you?

Sounds like we are much in the same boat. I lost as much as 55 pounds on Weight Watchers, and right now am heading in the wrong direction. I am just down the road from you the other side of the McCarren Bridge. Where do you like to ride to?

Soooooo I used to be a faithful member of sparkpeople a long time ago, well maybe like 4 years ago. I lost a lot of weight, went from over 200 to 130. Slowly over the last few years I have regained 33 of those pounds. I found that out today when I bought a scale an hour ago. When I was at 130 I was actually not all that healthy, I'd like to lose 23, hit 140 and call it good. That would be ideal for me.

I have changed my screen name here. In my eyes the old person is long gone, I'm starting new again. I don't want old blogs and old posts and all that.

I really wish I could find others kinda like me, to help motivate me, and I am great at motivating in return. I love being outside. I jog and I ride bikes. I have an extremely active lab puppy that easily runs a few miles now.

So any runners, bikers out there? I am in Reno, I live on Idlewild, right across from Idlewild Park, it's where I start most all my runs and rides. Anyone wanna give it a go?
