Congratulations on the weight loss! For me even being overweight I have confidence. I let my personality out shine my outsides. I suppose being a Theatre major and alway sbeing outgoing I'm ok with the guy arena. My only downfall is I go in being the non flirt and miss out on being more than the friend because I never assume a guy is interested in be because of my size. Then my skank bag friends pounce on him. So I say FLIRT A LITTLE or FLIRT ALOT! You aren't that girl anymore! EMBRACE the new you!

Welcome! from a fellow "flounderer." :o)

Like any new skills, dating and flirting will get easier and less scary with practice. I've always been shy and self-conscious, hadn't dated much and was scared to death of blind dates... so a couple years ago I set out to conquer that. My initial goals (and I actually wrote these on a list of "Things to Conquer"--I am that much of a goober!) were "Overcome fear of dating and rejection" and "Go on dates without worrying about the outcome." It did *not* come naturally at first. {laughing} I had phone calls and dates that ranged from awkward and brief to truly bizarre... and a couple that were pretty good, too. Didn't meet Mr. Right, but I have some hilarious stories, and dating no longer seems at all scary.

Now I'm taking a break to follow in your footsteps: I need to be more confident in how I look and feel!

Congratulations on your weight loss and all the hard work it took to get there--you're such an inspiration!!! :o)

Good luck!

Hello all.
I am 28 and single. Have been all my life. I have also been obese most of my life, so I never got that "I feel attractive" feeling around guys. Now I have lost over 100 pounds and am becoming more confident in how I look and feel. The tricky part I am struggling with is that I have no idea how to act around guys as this new person I have become. Floundering a bit as my brain and body catch up with each other.
