I am glad to hear from you. I lived in Amarillo when I was in grade-school; I remember pushing my bike against a cold wind. My mother, too, very much wanted to move futher south, away from the sand storms, wind, and cold weather. Dad was from that part of the country and did not mind.

Don't know why I just found this. Have we messaged before??? I love talking to anyone from home. I was born in Alpine, went to high school in Temple and grade school in Amarillo. Graduated from Baylor after I had four kids. All loyal Texans.
Pat, I am so thankful that DH came through good. Yes, there are some wonderful doctors out there.
I am waiting on DH so we can leave for church. We are having a reception afterwards for a Minister that is moving to Jacksonville, FL. I baked a banana bread (cake) and made a cheese tray. I will try to be good as I weighin tomorrow night at TOPS. Have a great day.

Hi Dear Bess-count me in as one of your SP friends too, please. Our hearts are with you and your struggles. So sorry to hear of what you are going through. My husband had serious heart problems in Texas and your wonderful doctors there pulled him through. We are winter Texans and are looking forward to returning in Oct. Your new SP friend, Pat
Choose wisely what we do with our bodies in the way of food choices and activity and we can be rewarded with good health Thank God for our blessings!
I am 72 years old. I have been married 56 years. I have a wonderful hubby that requires most of my time. He has Parkinson's. We have two wonderful children and two precious grandchildren. The last two years have been very hectic, stressful and sad for me. My hubby has gone from 235 down to 142 without trying, has been very, very sick. From October of 2006 until March of 2007, he would faint and fall,if I didn't manage to catch him, 3 or 4 times a day. Using this as a crutch, I gained about 15 to 20 pounds, depending on the scales that particular morning...it varies so, it is hard for me to keep up with it. So, now I am trying to lose and it is not easy as I am sure most of you know. The older we get, the harder to lose. But I am giving it my best. I love God, family and friends...in that order..I can not imagine this world without any of these in it. Friends come in all ways..like here on this site. I have become very good friends with people I probably will never see, but they are there for me when I need them...and I for them.. Give someone you know a big hug and let them know you care. to all of you!
