Hi, my name is Lori. I'm working on a second master's degree in Oklahoma. In addition to being a grad assistant and taking a full load of classes, I currently have a desk job, which only adds to the sedentary lifestyle. I love cooking for my boyfriend and I, but don't always have the energy. I'm sure you all know how alluring fast food becomes when you're tired, stressed, and hungry. That combined with not having the energy (I'm sure I have the time to squeeze in some exercise) has gotten me to where I am now. I want to lose about 40 pounds before my boyfriend, who is working on a PhD, and I eventually take engagement pictures (we'll get engaged sometime this spring). I'm tired of feeling like this because it's totally a vicious cycle.
I keep waiting for the stars to align and for both my boyfriend and I to be able to get healthy together. But I need to give up on that and just start doing it for myself, by myself. Hopefully he'll be able to join me soon, you know?
