Hi Teresa, my name is Ruth. I am 40 years old, and just going to jump back into Turbo Jam and Turbo Fire, my favorite workout DVDs ever! They are really good for losing weight, even though I have recently been diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I lost three inches from my waist in three weeks!!! How about you? You've been doing it for 6 weeks :) That's awesome. What is your workout schedule like? I know you don't have kids.... I have three plus two (my man's :) And I am a kindergarten teacher.....whew! But you sound really busy too! How do you fit in your fitness? Thanks!

Hey SparkPeople!
My name is Teresa, I'm 29 and I've been married for a year and a half. My husband and I don't have any kids, but we are enjoying life in Nashville. I am a keyboard player/background singer in a country band and play piano for church and school choirs. I originally joined SparkPeople years ago, right after college, and have been using this on and off again. I was routinely on here right before my husband and I got married, then I quiet using SparkPeople. I've gained and lost weight over the years and this time around I really want to lose the weight and live healthier. I've been working out for about 6 weeks in a row now, doing TurboJam and Yoga Booty Ballet, but I just started using SparkPeople again this week. I'm very happy to have this group so we can all hold each other accountable.

Hi! I'm just getting into Tubo Jam again. I've had it forever and never did much with it! I'm following the 17 day diet plan, working out with turbo jam and walking. Lost 4lbs in my first week! I've been having a problem with sore knees and back though from tb. Anyone have any suggestions on how to avoid the soreness?

Hi and welcome to the team! Congrats on loosing 50 lbs thats awesome, You will love Turbo Jam, it took me a couple of weeks to get use to the moves but once you get the hang of them theres no stopping you!
hello! i joined sparkpeople in 2007 which was a huge factor in keeping me motivated to lose 50 lbs, woo! i've kept off most of the weight since then, but haven't maintained the healthy lifestyle I was accustomed to then. i recently weighed in and found i'd regained almost 10 lbs and a lot of muscle tone. so i'm trying to get back on track and even beat my previous goal weight!
i'm new to turbo jam but i love chalene's energy and teaching style. i look forward to working out again and again because turbo jam is so much fun! i feel pretty awkward as i dont have all the moves down yet, but i've seen improvement in the short amount of time and know it will only get easier.

Hi, I'm new to this team, but I've had Turbo Jam for about 3 years, and I never really follow through (with turbo jam or working out every day), until November last year, when I decided I had to do something for my health, and really commit to it.
Since then, I've been eating healthier and working out more, from 4 days a week to 6 days a week now, I was working out with an elliptical, walking and doing My fitness coach on the Wii, but since I want to change my workout every 6 to 8 weeks, I decided it was time to start Turbo Jam again.
I have the deluxe version, so I've worked up a schedule that has at least 4 days cardio and 2 days strength.
Let me tell you... I thought Turbo jam was going to be too easy, since the previous times I did it, I wasn't working out regularly before, and now I was, and my heart rate monitor shows a lot of improvement in my resting heart rate....but I was so wrong!!! Chalean made me sweat and burn calories... And have fun at the same time.

Hi my name is Crystal, and I just joined sparkpeople and started doing turbo jam again! Several years ago I lost over 40 lbs using the program and by eating clean. Gradually I have put the weight back on, and just graduated from college. I am back to where I started years ago, 165 lbs. I dug up my old videos (which I stopped doing for years!) and am excited to do the workouts again. I like the constant motivation from Chalene, and have previous experienced my weight literally "melting off" by doing turbo jam several days a week. Good luck to everyone!

Hi everyone. My name is Amanda and I've been a member of SparkPeople since Sept. 2012. So far I've lost about 13 lbs using Leslie Sanson and Power 90. While researching other fitness programs I saw Turbofire and fell in love with it!. I aspire to be able to handle the intensity and HIIT, so I got Turbo Jam to help me get ready. I'm a sucker for dance music so this program seems like a god fit for me. I did my first Learn and Burn last week, and it was challenging but I had fun! Can't wait to move forward!

Hi I'm Tricia new to TJ team but not new to SP. I started to do TJ and then had some set backs at the beginning of this month. Last week I decided to get back on track and started doing TJ again. I love it. I'm glad I found this team on here and hope we can all encourage eachother.

Hi All! I'm not new to Spark People or Turbo Jam. I've actually been using Turbo Jam for about 6 years. I used it to lose weight for when I got married 5 years ago. I recently had a baby, he's 2 months, so I'm trying to get back into a routine again. I've always done Turbo Jam and running so I'm sure it will work again. I even did Turbo Jam while I was pregnant until I was about 7 months and it became a little too hard. I didn't know there was a Turbo Jam team or I would have joined a lot sooner. Glad I found y'all.

Hi,
I'm also new to SparkPeople but have been jammin since 2008. Lost a total of 23 pounds and several inches, but the last 20 pounds toward my goal have been a bit stubborn and to be honest I find myself not sticking to the program as much as I should. Hoping that being part of SparkPeople and also the Turbo Jammers team will give me incentive to stick to it more regularly. Just want to say Hi.

Hi -
I'm new to the team, have started Turbo Jam (again) and coming back to SP for the umpteenth time. My goal is 100 days of exercise in a row (I'm also trying to work up to Turbo Fire, I already have it but have to recondition myself before I use it). Have done 5 days of TJ plus 2 of Ab Jam. I'm feeling stronger and I'm planning to do Turbo Sculpt tomorrow but my question is how do I track that workout on SP?
Thanks for any feedback!!!
I'm psyched to be back!

Hi ... this is the first group that I have joined.... I have had the turbo jam DVD's for a few years but have only recently started using them regularly. I only used turbo jam 2-3 times a week (and on the other days I work out at the gym doing spin or body pump)...

I've been doing some of the Turbo Jam workouts for about 4 years, but I've never actually tackled the whole program. I am looking forward to following the schedule listed on here as much as possible -- it's hard for me to find 40 minutes every day ... that's why I've relied so much on the 20 minute workout. Either way, I love Chalene and am excited to be a Jammer.

Hi Deborah, Yes for sure Turbo Jam is a great stepping stone to Turbo Fire---
I read this from member SarahFailla blog and I thought it was great info...here it is and ~~ ~~Thank you Sarah.
Are you trying to figure out whether you should choose TurboFIRE or ChaLEAN Extreme for your next workout program? As a Beachbody coach this is probably the #1 question I am asked. There isn't a right or wrong answer, but hopefully I can explain the two in a way that you can see which one is a better fit for what you are looking for.
The quickest way to describe the two programs is that TurboFIRE is fun cardio with strength training on the side and ChaLEAN Extreme is weights with cardio on the side. The cardio in TurboFIRE is more choreographed than the cardio in ChaLEAN Extreme. (But don't be afraid, I have NO rhythm and can do TurboFIRE.) TurboFIRE also comes with HIIT workouts which stands for High Intensity Interval Training- this will help kick up your metabolism throughout the whole day. ChaLEAN Extreme also does some interval training in the cardio, workouts but what I love most about it is that it's like I have a personal trainer at home.
How are they the same?
•Both come with strength training, cardio, core workouts, and stretching workouts. •Both come with a guide book (including schedule) and a nutrition guide. •Both are very practical for a busy woman. Workouts in TurboFIRE range from 15 to 60 minutes. In ChaLEAN Extreme they are 20 to 45 minutes. This doesn't include the ab workouts which are 10 to 15 minutes. •Chalene Johnson is the trainer for both programs. (She also created TurboJam which is like TurboFIRE's little sister. At the gym her programs are Turbokick, PiYo, and Hip Hop Hustle.)
How are they different?
•TurboFIRE is going to come with everything you need, with ChaLEAN Extreme you will need to buy weights or extra bands. (When I first started ChaLEAN Extreme I used 5, 7, 10, 12 pound weights. I could have used heavier but still got good results, now I have much heavier weights to use.) •TurboFIRE comes with a six day per week schedule. You will have to cut things out to get it to five days if you want. (Six days was too much for me so when I was just doing TurboFIRE so I cut one day out each week.) ChaLEAN Extreme is a five day a week program.
How are you motivated?
If you are someone who is glued to the scale and gets discouraged easily, I would recommend you go with TurboFIRE first. Due to the high amount of cardio work you will see pounds drop faster than you will with ChaLEAN Extreme. (Generally speaking.) You will be losing inches on both programs but it's usually not until month three with ChaLEAN Extreme that you see your weight drop.
If you are stuck in a plateau they both are good as well, if you are really close to your goal weight or already have a cardio program (like running or something similar) that you enjoy then ChaLEAN Extreme would be a great choice. You can combine it with your current cardio program very easily. Also adding muscle to your body with ChaLEAN Extreme is going to help you increase your metabolism.
These are my two favorite workout programs of all time! I have been doing various versions of a hybrid for three years now. Yes, three years later and I still get an intense workout from these programs.
Good luck and remember start slow and listen to your body.... SPANKY

Hi Everyone. My name is Deborah. I live outside Houston, TX. I have ordered and should receive my Turbo Jam DVD's by this weekend. So you can imagine how happy I was to know there was an online spark group.
I am looking to loose aprox 25lbs. I am presently part of the biggest looser summer challenge group on spark.
My daughter has ordered me the Turbo Fire workout to do after I finish the Turbo Jam program. I am 55 and from what I have read was told to start with Turbo Jam before going onto TF.
25 with 20 pounds to go! I loooooove Turbo Jam. Starting the 10 day kickstart program tomorrow!

Hey all! I'm 25yrs old and trying to lose the last 20lbs (10 of which are regained--- ugh!). I rented Cardio Party Remix from the local library about 2 years ago and I did it every day until I had to turn it in. Of course, I quickly ordered the 5 workout dvd and the remix for my very own. I am finally feeling the same fire that helped me lose 40lbs in 2009, so here we go again! I ordered Punch Kick Jam today just to mix things up a little bit more.
I think I'm going to have to put TurboFire on my Christmas list.
I cancelled my old Spark account a year ago. And then gained 10lbs. So here I am again. Add me as a friend!

I am new to the team and have been Turbo Jamming for a few weeks now. I just got the shock of my life when I found out a few days ago that I am pregnant. My hubby and I are super excited, but it put a little detour in the healthy path I was on. I found out that I can still do TurboJam, but I must keep my eyes on Mindy and do it low impact. To be safe, I'll stay away from the kicks, but I am going to punch like it's going out of style. If nothing else, I'll be healthy with great arms....

Hi! I'm a returning SP member. I lost about 100 pounds and then life changed and I dropped out of sight. I kept the 100 off, but still have about 185 to go. So, I'm back! I enjoy the TJ dvds. I'm a terrible klutz and have a REALLY hard time with "the twist", but I'm bound and determined to succeed.
I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you.

Hi Everyone,
I joined SP at the beginning of the year, but finally stumbled across the Chalene teams this week. I am somewhat addicted to doing something Turbo everyday, I feel like I don't get enough of a workout if I do anything else. I try to do cardio everyday plus CLX 3 times per week. I am so happy to talk to others who love Chalene, too!
I tend to lurk around the site, but I will try to start posting more!

Hi I'm Angela! I'm 23, turning 24 in September. I am obsessed with Turbo Jam! I tried it once at a friend's house- she absolutely swears by it, and I ordered it the next day. It sat on my shelf for 3 months before I tried it, and it was hard at first but once I got the moves down there was no stopping me. I've been doing Turbo Jam since January but I haven't lost any weight due to not eating very well. Tomorrow I'll be starting the advanced rotation and for the past couple of weeks getting my diet in check so we'll see how this goes!

Hi! My name is Milana, I love the Turbo Jam workouts! I've been doing them on and off for about 3yrs. I love how motivating Chalene is! The Sculpt workout is killer! I followed the workout program when I first got it and lost 30lbs! I started the workouts again at the beginning of Feb and I'm seeing some results already!

Welcome everyone!!!!
Shirley you will get the steps in time! It totally had me looking like a wild woman at times, but now it's just part of life and I don't have to think about it much! (I mean after 4+ years it should be right?!)
Chalene is amazing and such a motivation! The only workouts I've ever stuck with are hers!!!

Hi all, my name is Shirley. I tried a Turbo Jam workout (can't recall which one but it was 40+ minutes) back in 2009 and it was a lot of fun but as I already had a workout routine I decided I was fine. However, I fell off the wagon shortly after and put weight loss on hold to TTC but during that rough (and so far unsuccessful) journey I discovered I am hypothyroid. Now that it's being treated I'm finally picking myself up again after losing 18lbs just from being on the meds.
I wanted a new workout to keep me at it so I googled Turbo Jam and found the beachbody website and they had this great deal on 7 workouts on one DVD with a bunch of extra stuff (weighted gloves, etc) for $60 so I bought it. It arrived the other day and today I did my second workout - just been doing the 15-minute burn part of the Learn & Burn segment to get myself started but next week I'm moving onto the 20-minute workout whether I master that darn twist step or not. lol That's the only step that's giving me grief but I'll get the hang of it enough to keep going.
I really love Chalene though - she's so motivating and energetic and she's not condescending at all like some workout video people sound. :) Can't wait to try my cardio party since everyone's raving about it! :D

Hi all. My name is Chelsey. I have been a Turbo Jam fan for a couple of years now. I mainly do the cardio parties, and do my strength training at the fitness club.
IAMAHOTMAMA, keep working on the videos! Start with the learn and burn. If it takes a month, then it takes a month! I find Chalene to be so motiviating and positive. Keep moving! It really is a great program :)

I am Alice and I am 37. For the past few years my weight has been up and down and never where I need it to be. I bought Turbo Jam in 2010 and paid like $200 for the CDS and only tried in once for like 5 minutes. The moves seemed hard as I have no cordination and gave up. I am over 100 pounds overweight now and 2012 is going to be my changing point. I had to leave my job due to my health and weight and so now it is time. No more excuses. I am glad to see there is a group for these videos as they look fun once you get a hang of the moves. Any suggestions for getting started?

Hi I'm Cherilynne and I love Turbo jam. Especially cardio party. Big cardio fan here. I was doing them for a while but stopped for a couple of years when I got pregnant. Now I am back and can't wait to get started. Starting with learn and burn today.

Hello everyone after a long time away I am back. I did very well over 2 years ago (wow it's really been that long) i lost 30lbs and had another 20 to go but unfortunately fell off the wagon.
I need to get back on track and refocus.
Sparkpeople helped a great deal with that especially on the bad days but just as importantly on the good days when it all seem to fall into place.
I really would love to have a buddy for workout accountability, so please anyone???

Hi, I'm VIolet. Just started doing the turbo jam video's not too long ago. I really love how upbeat Chalean is in them and think that its contagious because as soon as I start I don't want to stop.

Hi :)! My name is Kimberly, I live in Texas, 34 yrs old and just had my first child, a beautiful baby girl. In the past I have always run or gone to spin class. I am now adjusting to working out at home. I just bought 3 TJ dvd's from Amazon to give them a try out; Beachbody 5 rockin workout,Fat Blaster & turbo kick & jam. I chose these 3 based off their ratings.
I am excited to try them all out!! I should receive them in the next week. I bought Chalene Extreme last year right when I got pregnant and have yet to do the program, I want to start it Jan 01, 2012.
All suggestions welcome as I am completely new to the Turbo Jam system :)

Hi all~ Not new to doing TJ but new to sp and this team! I love these workouts because they work! Years ago, when I first bought the kit n kaboodle, it was because my sis had started doing them and she lost 20lbs in 2 weeks! (without changing her diet). Of course I got online and ordered it right away, and fully insured my purchase LOL. I was at 160lbs at the time and I too lost 20 lbs in 2 weeks. I was burning an amazing 450 calories in a half hour!!! I am jumping back on the TJ wagon as my cardio jumpstart plan and will cut it down to 3 days a week when I begin strength training so as to not start burning muscle. These workouts are fun and they work you HARD. Well worth the effort!
