I use the schedule or mix it with my other exercise DVDs. The best for me is doing the toning ones three times a week.

I'm struggling with the math here:

{Basically you need to add back calories so that you net out at no less than 1200 calories if you are trying to lose weight. (Calories eaten - calories burned must be greater than 1200 calories).}

So my estimated calories (found here http://calorieneedscalculator.com/) burned per day based on my height, weight, age, and activity level (without working out) is 2188. If I eat 1500 calories a day...

1500-2188= 688? This number must be greater than 1200? What am I missing here? (I'm infamously bad at math, sorry!)

Thanks for the schedule. I bought my Turbo Jam used on ebay and it didn't come with a schedule. I was trying to make one up on my own but it's nice to some suggested schedules to help me on my way. I will probably throw some Tae Bo in there too!

No excuses!

Depends on how many days a week you are looking to workout? What are you thinking? And which DVD's did you get? The basic or the ones including the advanced programs? :-)

Many thanks for this posting and all the enthusiasm pouring in. Having a series of workout schedules gives a great jumping off point! It is definitely time to get on the Party Train (one of my favorite segments). The Turbo Jam series has been a favorite of mine, combining fun and motivation. May you have all the success you wish :)

I love the Beachbody programs. At beachbody.com you can register for free (WOWY gym)and it will create a calendar for you based on the beginner or advanced workout you want. You can swapout workouts add additional workouts. I tend to stick with the same video day after day, but since I used the calendar and the computer told me to try a specific one (that's pretty sad, huh? ) I have actually been doing a different one every day!!! emoticon

lol that bottom one was suppose to go to someone who was asking about other beachbody programs- I'm still new to this website.. I'm learning how to work it lol.

but I figured I would post my week schedule.. it usually varies on how I'm feeling I might switch like 20 minute to something else last minute.

I'm also doing Chalean Extreme obviously I just said that lol but heres my whole work out schedule [the push circuits and etc are CLX]

Monday- 20 min & ab jam 1st part/ push circuit 1
Tuesday- turbo sculpt & ab jam 2nd part
Wednesday- Cardio Party/ Push circuit 2
Thursday- 20 min & Burn/ burn intervals & ab burner
Friday- Cardio Party/ Push circuit 3
Saturday- Burn it off & Recharge
Sunday- Punch, Kick & Jam

I also run on the treadmill every day. :]

Hello :]
I'm doing Chalean Extreme & I can honestly say I LOVE IT. I haven't been following the schedule like I should have because it's been hectic lately. But even with me not fully doing it like I should I've see amazing results. I dropped 8 lbs since the first month I started it and I feel amazing. I would highly recommend it.

My current program goes something like this:
Mon: Weight training - Lower body
Tue: Cardio - currently TJ 20 Min
Wed: Rest
Thu: Cardio - TJ 20 Min
Fri: Weight training - Upper body
Sat: Yoga - 45 mins
Sun: Cardio - TJ Cardio Party
(That's just this week; I'll step it up every few weeks to keep things interesting.)

I personally like to have at least one workout per week dedicated to flexibility. Regular stretching improves range of motion and circulation*. It allows you to stay productive while taking a rest day from your usual program, because stretching still stimulates your muscles, but in a different way.

I'm curious if anyone else is adding other workouts to their Turbo Jam and if so, what?
I am going to start a Belly Dance/Pilates/Stretch workout because I'm finding out my cardio is improving but my flexibility is not where it should be. Thanks for any help and/or suggestions.

I started the "Advanced Rotation" on Sunday with plans to move to the "Rip You Up Advanced Rotation" in 4 weeks. I've been doing ok. I could not make it through the entire CP video on Tuesday, but I am going to try again today. I can make it through the 20 minute video with gloves now, so I can tell my stamina is building.

I'm also a part of the 28-Day Bootcamp Challenge here on Spark, and it has been interesting to combine a TJ rotation with those videos.

You can also enter it as high impact aerobics.. that one was pretty accurate according to my heart rate monitor..
also you can do cardio 6 days a week if you want.. strength is 3 beacuse you want to give your muscles a break..

Liveslim Ab Jam and Turbo Sculpt go under Strength and then Cardio Party, Punch/Kick/Jam, 20 min, Learn and Burn, etc. go under Cardiovascular.

Just type in Turbo Jam and then add how many minutes you did. As far as I know, that is the only way to track it on Spark.

OK QUESTION!!!!

Is it alright that I am doing TJ between 9 and 11 at night? I know you aren't supposed to workout at night for sleeping reasons but are there any other?! It is really just the best time of the day for me as I am ALWAYS available during those hours so it helps me set a routine.
Any suggestions if I shouldn't be doing this?

I did not create this rotation, btw! But I'd substitute Kickin Core for any 45-50 minute workout, and then Total Body Blast for the weight workouts or a 50 minute cardio. That one really the shoulders, so you really wouldn't want any shoulder work the day before or the day after.

I've backslidden... I reached my goal and was now maintaining, but now I need to lose 10 pounds and firm up.

Thanks, I did actually find this rotation, it doesn't include the ball workouts (which I love!), but I guess I can throw them in there somewhere.. Thanks again!

Hi All,

Does anyone have a rotation schedule that incorporates ALL of the turbo jam workouts?? I now have them all (including CLX). I'm like a kid in a candy store. I want to wait another month before I start ChaLean Extreme so that I can get the proper weights that I need, but for now I need an intense rotation to work off these extra pounds and tighten up. Any suggestions?

Hi all!! I borrowed this from a post that team member SHANI posted a while back ..it way down there and some of you might not have the rotation for TJ! Thanks Shani!

In an effort to get you information as quickly as possible, we've come up with a list of answers to frequently asked questions.

* What is Turbo Jam?
Turbo Jam is a series of workouts developed by Chalene Johnson and distributed by Beachbody. She uses elements from kickboxing, Capoeira, martial arts, and dance and mixes it with great music to make a workout program that is fun and easy to stick with.

* Where can I buy Turbo Jam workouts?
www.beachbody.com and www.qvc.com are both authorized distributors.

* How often should I work out?
That is up to you but as often as you can! The more you do, the better your cardiovascular health, muscle strengthening and the greater the calories you burn each week. Still, you need to listen to your body and do the workouts at the intensity you can handle. It is good to give your muscles a break especially after doing some sculpting (weight lifting). They need time to repair themselves and you want to give them time to do that. Do strength training every other day or at least two times a week.

* What should my calorie level be when I'm using Turbo Jam?
Basically you need to add back calories so that you net out at no less than 1200 calories if you are trying to lose weight. (Calories eaten - calories burned must be greater than 1200 calories). Otherwise your body might think that you are starving yourself and alter your base metabolism. SparkPeople's goal calculator is great at figuring this out for you. Just make sure that you are adequately reflecting the amount of calories you're burning when you enter your cardio.

* How can I know how many calories I'm burning?
SparkPeople's fitness tracker has an entry for kickboxing that comes pretty close to what you are probably burning during any of the cardio workouts. The way to be sure of how many calories you are burning is to use a heart rate monitor.

* So, how do I find a good heart rate monitor?
You want one with a chest strap and a wrist band. The chest strap is the best way to make sure you get a good measure of your heart rate. The monitor should take your height, weight and gender into account and should calculate your calories for you. The more you pay for them, generally the more they do, but a fairly basic model that covers these things should work fine for Turbo Jam. Several of us like the Polar F4 model (and some who run like the F6), but there are many makes and models out there.

* Is there something I can do to maximize my results with Turbo Jam?
Eat well and drink lots of water! Make sure you are tracking your calories so that you don't overeat. It is easy to do… Look at the materials that come with the basic Turbo Jam package. There are some great eating recommendations for ways of increasing your protein intake and decreasing your simple sugar dependence. Water is essential for basic health, but you lose a lot of water doing these workouts. You also really work the muscles and they need water to help repair themselves.

* What are the Turbo Jam workouts available?
There are currently 5 different packages. We refer to them by abbreviations a lot on the team so the abbreviations are listed here too.
