Kelly,

Please call me Annie, everyone does. Right now I am taking two types, one is Neutra-Phos Powder Concentrate the other the solid pill they want me to let dissolve in water or juice; easier said than done, it goes down like little rock pebbles.

Powder forms and liquid forms tend not to stay in me at all... If you know what I mean...

Be well,
Annie

Ebony, would it be possible to take a potassium electrolyte liquid, rather than pills? I know there are such things available.

Wow...

You know, I thought I was on a lot of medications until I seen the list from the others in the group...

Daily...

2 Spironolactone, 1 Omeprazole, 1 Prenatal Vitamin, (
2 Metolazone, 1 loratadine, 4 Furosemide and 1 Carvedilol in the morning.

10 Potassium Chloride throughout the day, Metoclopramide every six hours and Ferrous Sulfates 3 times a day.

In the evening, 3 Warfarin/Coumadin, 1 Carvedilol, 1 Lovostatin, and 1 Losartan.

Still trying to find a way to get those huge Potassium pills down with my sensitive gag reflex...

Be well,
Annie

Lasix, spironolactone, Diovan (valsartan), Coreg (carvedilol, an alpha-beta blocker), digoxin, aspirin, Lipitor (atorvastatin), plus thyroid and two antidepressants. Ten pills every morning. Whee! I find that if I read while I take them all, I can get through it, but if I'm not doing something distracting, then taking the pills one after another becomes a CHORE which I hate doing. Silly for something so simple to do, but some days it feels like I'm picking up lead weights instead of little pill bottles.

Kathy,

Welcome my friend to the Healthy Hearts Team, you will enjoy this group.

I was just taken off Lisinopril, I take ten Potassium a day, because I take four lasix, two metolazone and two spirolactones daily.

We need to compare notes on medications, it would be interesting... Potassium and I do not mesh well in my system, but alas... I need it.

Talk to you later, Love.

Kathy, Welcome to the team. I noticed you already started to lose weight and that is a great start. I have lost and gained the same 5 lbs for the last 6 months but don't get discouraged by my progress. Since starting a low sodium diet it has steadly come off. I got discourage and left the site for about 6 months but know there was a team out on this site that could help me. I found this team and they are great. You hang in there and use the site to it fullest and you will suceed. Have a good day Sandra

Welcome to the team! We're here to help!

Have you had an echocardiogram? Has your doctor ruled out congestive heart failure?

Hi!
I'm Kathy...66 year old mother of 4 adult children and wife of Art for 46 years on August 4. I have not had any heart attacks, or any specific diagnosis that I recall. I had an eventful late winter and spring with many tests and a sort of diagnosis where right side of my heart is having to work harder due to the right lung being smaller than it should.
I do take many heart related prescriptions:
Lisinopril, Atenolol, Vytorin, Lasix(4 daily), Potassium. I have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, asthma, allergies, arthritis, diabetes, and too many pounds to lose.
In late January, for some unknown reason I gained 40 pounds, and shortly after that my feet and legs swelled up and even the Lasix doesn't get rid of it.
This team is a good one for me, because I need encouragement to get my heart healthy again.
