Welcome. Glad to have you here with us. If the soda has caffeine switch it little by little to something else that has caffeine only less, like homemade iced tea. Then you can start whittling down the amount of caffeine you use little by little. Maybe keep a pad beside the fridge and put a mark down for each glass. Every third glass drink water with a little lemon in it. If you get a headache, drink a cup of coffee.
Of all the things I've given up in my life caffeine was the hardest and I'm back on it a bit now. So don't feel too bad if you fall of the wagon. But do get back on. Eventually you'll do it.

Nothing like a heart scare to get you motivated! Proper diet & exercise can go a long way in preventing it or reversing it if you already have it.. I follow the Eat To Live plan by Dr. Joel Fuhrman. I've had a triple by-pass & a heart attack, so I have to be ever vigilant! Good luck!

I am a 36 year old mom of 4 kiddos ( 14, 12, 9, and 7) and recently I wasn't feeling well. The doctor decided to do a bunch of tests including an EKG that came back abnormal. I FREAKED out! My mom had heart disease for years, finally passing away from it before she was even 60. I have never smoked so that was a plus. I don't have the all clear yet until I get a stress test on July 10th. But, the cardiologist doesn't think I have anything to worry about. Yet. But I DO need to lose 70-80 lbs to get where I need to be. I haven't been that small since before my first kid. I live in Fowler Indiana and the good thing is the neighborhood is great for walking. I am ready to pay attention more to myself and not everyone else. I am open for any and all suggestions, especially ones on how to give up drinking soda. that is my one vice, one that I know i need to give up. I can't wait to start seeing results and mostly to seeing my heart health improve.
