Hi Pam! Welcome to Sparkpeople. I would suggest you start with the trackers to begin to track your food and exercise and then slowly incorporate the other parts of this site. The trackers really do help to hold you accountable.
My name is Pam. I have two teenage daughters and a wonderful husband, all of whom love me just the way I am. I have high blood pressure and two brothers who have died from massive heart attacks and both were younger than I am. I am not in "bad" shape but not in great shape either. I run some, do some yoga but I am not consistent. I hate cold weather and tend to hibernate when it is cold outside. I prefer to run outside rather than on a treadmill which I have at our neighborhood gym. I am trying to get motivated and am new to Spark People looking for some motivation. You would think that with my family history I would have the motivation to be more healthy. I see lots of teams and am a little overwhelmed by the size of this site. I have read the guides to getting started and am ready to start. Any help in navigating and posting will be greatly appreciated.
