I am also new to this group as well as new to SparkPeople. My challenge to exercise is a cardiac problem. I found seated exercise videos on the site and I am going to try that. I prefer morning exercising and I have a lot of weight to lose so any tips to stay motivated are appreciated.
Welcome. Just being aware of what you eat is a good start. Check out the challenges on the Community tab at the top of any page. There are some good one to help you get started. Good luck.

I am right there with you .. weight, commitment, family history, focus on other .. we could be the same person. Today is day 5 but I missed 3 days so its really DAY 1 for me too! I have 80 pounds to lose and the shadow of my Mother's health to get out from under (she died at 61 from heart and weight problems and I am almost 58 with heart and weight problems).
Post whenever you can and we can encourage each other!
Good day all, I so need to start taking my heart health seriously. I am 100# overweight, and have been for years. I come from parents with plenty of heart and weigh issues. But for now, for today, my focus is on ME. I have decided today is Day ONE of my feeling better and doing better for myself. I am looking forward to the journey. I know it will be a struggle some days. I have serious commitment issues when it comes to taking care of myself. (always easier to focus on someone else) I don't know that I will be posting on the Team Page everyday, but I WILL be posting every bite that I take; every day. Looking forward to getting to know you all.
