Welcome. Reading the "Success Stories" on the Community tab above and the articles and videos on the Motivation page on the Articles & Videos tab will give you a chance to see how other people have dealt with the problems you run into when trying to become healthier. It's not impossible to overcome our self defeating habits. It just takes time, dedication, and a "one-step-at-a-time" mind set.

Hi Deana - welcome to the group. Sometimes I find the support comes not only from the people and what they contribute but in seeing my own progress in tracking my exercise and nutrition - it reinforces I'm doing good when I succeed and acts as a motivator when I fall off the wagon. I found I got tired of reading charts that never met my goals and did something about it. That's not to say I don't have bad fits and starts - I think we all do. What is important to me is forgiving myself and moving on. I wish you success on your journey and hope you'll join in the discussions. Who knows, you might even start writing blogs.

I don't know how I feel about the community support, and whether it will be helpful to me, but I am willing to try. yesterday I consumed over 3000 calories telling myself that tomorrow is a new day. I am constantly self destructing and can't seem to stop, but I have at least slowed down.
