Welcome. It sounds like it's time for you to take care of you for a change. Low calorie food (vegetable) are actually less expensive than high calorie foods (pre-packaged stuff). For heart disease it's just as important to exercise as it is to stick to a healthy diet. There are exercise videos here to help with that, and plenty more on YouTube. Everything just takes planning. Glad you're here with us.

welcome Terri - great advice already on your thread about the articles. I'm sorry to hear you are unhappy in your homelife - been there done that. I'm fortunate enough to have left that relationship (years ago now) and remarried a wonderful man. Being unhappy can be a serious detriment to weight loss I have found and I hope that you can find enough courage and support to get past that with the good relationships you do have. Good luck on your journey and get involved with the various groups on here - the support is endless.

Hello and Welcome, Terri. There is a lot of helpful information on this site. If you go up to "Articles & Videos" and click on Healthy Heart Program, you'll find many different heart related articles. The Nutrition Tracker can break what you eat down to carbs, fat, protein, calories, etc...Avoid salt and sodium.

Hi .. My name is Terri. I am 57 and have about 70 pounds to lose. I lost my Mom when she was 61 to heart disease and (surprise, surprise) I have developed heart problems. Sorry Mom but I am not ready to get back together with you just yet. I am unhappily married and a wonderful son and two great step-children. All are grown and married and we all get along really well. My son's wife and I are best-friends even. She comes to me instead of her won Mom which is very flattering. With the stress at home, not much money for food and heart problems, my weight loss tasks sometimes are overwhelming to me. Suggestions anyone? I would love to hear from any and all who can relate to my issues.
