Although I try to switch around my cardio at the gym I always make a point to include at least 10 minutes on the treadmill and a casual walk during my break at work, weather permitting.

I've always enjoyed walking. It's sort of my time to meditate, but it can get boring. When I don't have anything to mull over, I download audio books from the library to my mp3 player and "read" while I walk, do housework, cook, pull weeds, etc.

Back when I was in rehab I complained to the therapists that they were insisting I do things I couldn't (like move my legs). They told me it didn't matter if I could do them or not. It only mattered that I tried, because eventually, if I kept trying, I would be able to do a little, and then a little more, and so on. They were right! How far we walk or how many rest stops we take doesn't matter as much as the fact that we're walking. So, Way-To-Go! emoticon

good for you. I find walking difficult (my hips and knees bother me some but it's mainly a funny feelling in my chest!) I've been told that nothing is wrong but ... also, after about 10-15 mins. I'm done in until I can get my second wind.

Well, well, well. I finally did some walking this past weekend. (8/10&11) I walked for about 20 mins. but not straight walking. I usually stop for about a minute to catch my breath then continue to walk. I'm hoping to walk 3 or more times this new week & so I keep telling myself to keep walking mizzee...lol...So to all of you who are walking for excercise keep on walking....cheers to all & have a teeerific new week.
