Every 'body' is different but I'll share this about my journey:
My entire family has heart disease, by-passes, stents, BP lowering meds and cholesterol meds. I had high cholesterol even as a teen. Age 40 and 41 were my best blood panels EVER.
I went from being an active vegetarian (for over 16 years) to omnivorous! Getting OFF grains of all kinds and adding meats (not even 'lean' just eating REAL food -- never from fast food or restaurants but cooked at home) has saved me.
I no longer take RX of any kind (including breathing meds).
I tell everybody experiment! I also say that doing exactly what the FDA says Americans should do kept me sicker. I still eat things that I shouldn't (sugar, alcohol) but my panels are fantastic. It sounds insane but more and more people are finding this.
I do NOT eat a low carb diet. I just don't eat any GRAINS and get a lot of healthy fats (EVOO and coconut oil) and real meat (with veg, of course). Good luck!

Last year I gave up smoking and added a lot more weight to my already chubby body. I now have 70 pounds to lose. I do not look at this as a diet but a new life journey. I am interested in vegetarian/vegan eating and a more mindful and simpler life as I am entering the last third of my life. I look forward to learning and living well!!!!
