I have trouble doing stairs too, but I found I can ride an exercise bike. There are also chair exercises on SP and many have lost enough weight doing those so that now they can do other things.
Check out the "Chair Exercise Team" and see if you'd like to join them also.

I have tried SparkPeople before but decided to try again. I have gained back all the weight I had lost. I quit SparkPeople because I was not following the program. I have to get back to exercising and lose 70 lbs. I had a heart attack in 2006 and had a defibrillator put in my chest in June of 2011. I am also Diabetic and on Metformin. I take Coreg, Lisinopril, and Lipitor for my blood pressure and cholesterol.
I really need to stick to an exercise program that will help my heart but not hurt my knees. I have a hard time going up and down stairs because my knees hurt from the stress caused by the weight.
I am glad to be a member of this team and look forward to the info on heart health.
