Welcome, Maria emoticon . So good to have you on the team. We all need each other for support and information at some time or other, and I have found lots of both on this team.

Congratulations on the weight loss so far...you are on your way to a healthy new life.

If we saw all the difference even the tiniest of our prayers make, and all the people those...prayers were destined to affect...we would be so paralyzed with awe...that we would be unable to get up off our knees for the rest of our lives.

Welcome Maria! Congrats on your weight loss so far! I agree that one of the helpful things about SP is being able to track not only your calories but other nutrients as well. I think thats great that you want to get healthy and not just lose weight! I wish you the best of luck!! emoticon

Welcome aboard...you will love the Sparkpeople site. There is so much support here and the information is always there at your fingertips. I just get so engrossed in the info that I finally realize that I have been on this site for hours. You will love it.

Good luck!

God grant me the patience, knowledge and understanding to do the things I need to do.

Hi all

I've just joined Spark People today having migrated from Weight Watchers. I've lost 2 1/2 stone so far, but still lots to go. One of the reasons I've joined Spark people is that I want to be able to track more nutritional information to make sure I'm getting all my minerals, especially calcium. Women have to be careful about bone density & I want to keep my nice and strong. Also, I've just switched to being a vegetarian so I want to keep a closer eye on things & make sure I'm balancing my proteins properly.

Generally, my emphasis is changing from just losing weight to gaining health - and Spark People seems a wonderful tool to support that.

I'm really looking forward to finding out more about what Spark People offers and hooking up with fellow Sparkies.

Maria - born & bred in London emoticon - and of Irish descent emoticon
