Welcome, Heather. It's good to have you on the team. If you look on the SP recipes, you will find lots of great ones.

If we saw all the difference even the tiniest of our prayers make, and all the people those...prayers were destined to affect...we would be so paralyzed with awe...that we would be unable to get up off our knees for the rest of our lives.

Hi my name is Heather I just joined. I am 39 years old and have had heart problems all my life I am currently waiting for a transplant and need to lose weight. The best way to eat heart healthy is cut out the sodium. Make sauces and soups from scratch that way you can control the sodium. I have a 9 year old and have a hard time getting him to eat what we eat but at least he trys it. I also have a hard time with my husband he always wants to eat out and resturant food is loaded with salt.

If anyone has any good slow cooker recipes please let me know. We found a couple

hi Sarah go to the health conditions section on the top of your page, its got lots of info for eating heart smart. And info about excercising. Remember to save the good articles to save to favorites, then you can print them off and put in a binder to keep your healthy journal stuff. Remember this is a process, we need to relearn everything, so it takes time to get it right and to keep it right. Its one day at a time. Go to spark recipes, they have alot of recipes for heart health. And be active in the forums here and the other groups you belong to, and blog alot of support comes from this. Good luck on your journey. Brightest Blessings emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hi everyone...My name is Sarah and I really hope that I can find some new friends that can help me learn some tricks. My husband had a heart attack Wednesday emoticon (we are both in our mid-30's) so now I need to change so many things in our usual diet. I am a bit overwhelmed and not really sure how or where to start. We both know we need to increase our activity levels but for right now the concentration in on finding new ways to prepare foods, finding foods he can eat, trying not to make 3 different meals a night (we have 2 small children, 4 and 9 months) and most importantly make sure it doesn't happen again. I am hoping to find some support from people that are going through this or have been through it. Thanks everyone!
