Thanks Linda. I will look up some articles in the coming weeks.... right now I need to see how my nutrition went today! I made some polenta eggplant ricotta stacks today... I am going to come to the site daily and see how people in my groups are doing.... good luck with your goals.

I am here more for the encouragement and to give encouragement in the teams and message boards rather than to use the tools on this site because after many years I am pretty knowledgeable about nutrition and calories and such.... Hello everyone, I joined this group because everyone on my father's side of my family - including my dad - have died from heart disease. When I was in my teens and twenties, I did not worry about it so much because I was at a healthy weight but with a thyroid problem and dealing with my father's death and another major crisis I gained a lot of weight. In the past, I wanted the quick fix, to set a goal and reach it the fastest possible - but that has not worked. So about 2 months ago, I started exercising 30 minutes a day and cut back 300 cals from my daily intake to slowly work my way to losing weight without failing because of too drastic goals. I'm now ready to cut back a little more and need encouragement - my heart needs help!
