Sounds like you have had your fair share of downs but I also detect a postive note. You already have the right idea about how to lose weight. I have Spark people to be a great help to me. I use the trackers to help me with nutrition & fitness planning. The support and encouragement is also a great help.
I also joined a challenge called the Spring int Shape Bootcamp challenge that I am finding extremely helpful, even though I have to modify some of the exercises.
These are just some things that have helped me and I know you will find lots of tips through the many areas of this very large site.
Take your time, explore daily, and remember you are worth every minute you put into becoming a healthier you.

I had 4 strokes by 2004. I had a heart attack in August, 2007. I am, at the present, only 56 years old, 57 in November; so the heart attack was like at 50 years old. A little bit of my history. In May, of 2000; I was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease, Sarcoidosis. In fact, I was diagnosed with Central Nervous System Sarcoidosis (CNS). This is what my Doctors believe was the cause of my strokes, and heart attack. In 2008, my doctors performed all the tests that I had to have, ever since I was diagnosed, including an MRI of my brain, in December 2008. What a great Christmas Gift; after studying all the tests, etc., the informed me that they saw no sign of the Sarcoidosis. After that, they weaned me off most of my meds. Unfortunately, my meds made me gain weight (messed up my fat cells). I never did believe in those, what I call yo-yo diets. I would like to lose 80 pounds. Those meds blew me up. I never had a weight problem before my illness. I believe in losing weight (more like weight management program) by exercise, a healthy nutrition plan, food portion control, and faith. This why I joined SparkPeople! Besides being free; I believe that this is,exactly, what I have been searching for. Thank you for having me on your team.
