This is a great message! My favorite part was where you said, if you fall down...don't stay there. So many times I think we beat ourselves up for mistakes made, when all we have to do is get back up and go again. Thanks for the encouraging thoughts!

I feel the same. Today I got the results of cath and I have to make life changes starting with weight. This time I have been rattled enough to trust in my strength and know I need the support of this site. You CAN succeed this time starting now.
Welcome to all. I told myself that 2012 is the year of change for me and getting heart healthy is part of the plan. I got back my results from my last Echo and the heart has maintained it's size and shape. I have been living with heart failure for almost 10 years and I am determined to live at least 10 more. So I gotta try something different. Keep on keeping on people, we can do it together!

When life hands you trouble slow down and stop to smell the roses. Life is so short, live like today is the last day of your life. Enjoy. My name is Sherry and I am from Erie, PA but live in Ijamsville, MD for the time being.

Hi! I'm pretty new here, too, but I KNOW it CAN be done because I've been doing it for almost one and a half years and I've lost 47 pounds so far. I'm pretty sedentary so it's taking me longer than if I could exercise as much as I should. I DO exercise, just not as much as I should. Just keep going and keep doing. If you fall down, don't stay there! Get back up and start again where you are. Do whatever it takes to reach your goal. If it's counting calories, then COUNT them. If it means cutting something from your menu, then cut it and don't look back. It took me years to discover that I wouldn't die if I didn't eat that luscious piece of cake that I was being offered by my mother-in-law, or that mound of french fries that my husband insisted on buying for me at the Sonic. Now I have no problem turning them down. Do I still like them? YES! Emphatically! But I know I can't have them and live the lifestyle I live. Until I'm willing and able to change THAT, I can't have those things. I wish you every success! You CAN do it.
