I'm Thelma! I have a strong, healthy heart today, thanks to the medical expertise at Fletcher Allan Hospital in Burlington, VT. 2010 was an eye-opener! March 2010 in NC had my first heart attack requiring 2 stints. Six months later to the day, while recuperating in Vermont, had 2nd attack requiring 2 CABG's and a bovine MVR. My body tries to reject metal by covering it with scar tissue, resulting in the two stints completely blocked with scar tissue. 4 days after open heart surgery had cardiac arrest. Heart resolved in 1st minute, but breathing took 8 minutes to resolve. Doctors expected some brain damage. Praise God, a year later to the day, no brain damage! 55 years smoking three packs daily, now 18 months have terrible desires but am a non-smoker. Diabetes under excellent control, now if I can just get that weight off.
