Hi Claire! I know how scary it can be to be diagnosed. I just came back from my cardiologist and even though I have no symptoms, my pulse and ekg came back not too good. They will be running tests however this week which will include wearing a monitor for 24 hours. I am 60 years old and very overweight. get no exercise and am trying to quit smoking. Yikes a very lot to try at one time. But it scares me so much that I have to start trying to take care of myself. I can only pray that I can do it. I have been so lazy for so long that I am scared I cant do it. Good luck to you and sorry for this book.

I am so sorry to hear that. It must be so frustrating and frightening! I live in a pretty medically deprived area and have to travel four hours one way to see a cardiologist. It is frustrating but worth it to have someone who can confidently treat me!
I hope they can help you determine what is going on with your heart!

my name's claire and i'm pretty new to SP, but i love that i found this group. about a year ago i was snowboarding and blacked out twice. i was taken to the urgent care center and diagnosed with vagal syncope. earlier this summer i was at the gym running at a pace that was higher for me, and felt as if i was going to pass out. my dad took me to the urgent care center and the doctor referred me to a cardiologist because he thought i had brugada syndrome. i didn't. so at the moment, i just have a weird heart that decides to pick on me sometimes.
i'd love to meet new people on here! (sorry for the novel :) )
