Hello! I am new to Spark and need some friends!

I am 39 years old and weigh 174 at 5'4". I am really not happy with my weight and it makes me kind of shy and embarrassed. I really need to lose it but I am having a crisis of faith. I have been trying all year to lose weight and was usually between 162 to 164, sometimes seeing the glorious 159, but this lady said to me a six weeks ago a comment about my weight in front of everyone at school and unconsciously I just said to myself , "Scr@w it." and binged away. There were other stressors as well. So here I am. Trying again.

I also LOVE to encourage other people as well. Motivating others brings me joy, so I hope I can help you too!!

I am a teacher, off for the summer, and I really want to concentrate and focus on this! My 8 year old is a bit of a couch potato too and I want to help him learn a healthier lifestyle. Heart disease runs in our family and right now both my mom and brother(who is only 44) have to wear nitroglycerin around their neck at all times.

My husband is very fit and works out everyday. He has a hard time slowing down for me, though! He is training for his 3rd 100 mile bike ride in August called 'The Hotter Than Hell' bike race. I might be able to do the 30 mile. I did 14 miles on Saturday with my 8 year old in 2.5 hours!

Well, that's all I can think of for now! Please let me know what to do on this website! ~~and how to be motivated to go excercise!!!! Thanks!!
