Hello Tori!

Isnt it amazing? Those who have suffered heart attacks, or heart disease of any type find that they love life more than anything and will do anything to KEEP on going!!

People dont understand how we feel, (most times its bad or 'not up to snuff'), and dont understand that we cant do the things we 'used' to do, and still want to do! But, this is sure a lifestyle change for you and your family!

I suffered atrial fibrulation myself, no heart attack, as my 'pipes were clean' in the heart, well, the Doc did discover a wee bit of cholesteral in there but basically gave me a clean bill of health!

Its Great that you found a "good Doctor", because I had one of them that tried to kill me three times and the last one couldnt care less what happened to me, as long as I felt good "that day" that I was there to see him... I think I have a good one this time, but, still I am going to Cleveland Clinic as its a Great Heart Hospital and I will be given drugs that my Doctors never even heard of or thought of giving me!

Go to a great Heart Hospital and you will find things are totally different then a 'run of the mill' hospital.

I wish you well...

Jesse

May the LORD Bless you with Grace and Salvation, and if we dont meet in this life time, that we meet in the cloud when our SAVIOUR comes to claim HIS own...The Church.

I wish you well...

Jesse

Welcome, Torri! I had a heart attack in Feb 2006 that was caused by an arterial dissection that was caused by pregnancy/labor, and no genetic or lifestyle factors! My surgeon told my husband that he had never seen such a clean heart!

Glad that you found a great cardiologist, and very glad you found the team!! Best of luck to you!

Rhonda

Thanks for the replies. I ended up switching doctors after my last heart attack. I was being seen at the University of Washington and they really dropped the ball unfortunately (or fortunately, as it probobly saved my life). My cardiologist I have now is wonderful! I am just going to keep down the path I am on and hope things settle down. I don't let myself get down about it...no point in dwelling on something you cannot change. I just need to go out and live my life and be as healthy as I can be and make the most of life emoticon

Hi Torri, I suffer from Coronary Artery Disease also. I was diagnosed at 49 although I have not (yet-hope never!) suffered a heart attack. I presume the doctor has you on several prescriptions. I hope your doctor is confident that he has you on the right path. Please post often and keep up with your exercise program. That seems to help me more than anything.

Hi Torri,

I'm new to this group too but wanted to welcome you. :) Your experience spoke directly to me since I just had my first (and hopefully only) heart attack over Tgiving weekend and I am 38 and also have few risk factors and good numbers.

It sounds like your 2nd one was a surprise and I am glad you sound to be doing well. SP is a great site to help with monitoring your eating and the support community here is wonderful.

Best of luck to you!!

I am so glad to find this group. I am a 40 year old women and have Coronary Artery Disease. I have suffered 2 heart attacks. My first one was in Oct 2005 and was mild (if a heart attack could be mild). My last one was this past February and I had 3 stents put in my heart. They don't know why my disease has progressed especially when my cholestorol is below 100. My weight is down and I eat healthy (no more than 20 grams of fat per day). I am looking forward to getting to know those who know what I am going through!
