I, too, almost died from an arterial dissection in Feb 2006 (my cardiologist still calls me her "Miracle Mommy"). Mine was due to pregnancy/labor, though, and not due to genetics or unhealthy lifestyle! Best of luck to your brother and to you!

Hi, Well when I turned 40 I swore I'd change my life and begged my cardiologist to give 6 mth recheck instead of the usual 4 mth one. I lost some- gained some- here I am a year later and I have just returned from a mission trip with habitat that almost killed me (manual labor!)- While there my 45 year old brother almost died from the same thing John Ritter died from and I'm the one with the genetic heart conditions! It's a miricle he's alive the drs say- I believe it- and a message to me...I have to do this - to show him it can be done and to save my life. I'm glad there is a heart team- I hope somehow joining helps me. Thanks ya'll.
