Bobby Orr is from Parry Sound, Ontario. They have their own "BOBBY ORR HALL OF FAME" there! Now THAT is a place worth visiting! I've already been to the "Hockey Hall Of Fame" in Toronto. THAT was pretty cool, too!
Yes, Mickey Mantle's knees were a MESS, too. He had a LOT of physical problems that shortened his career, too. Very sad, indeed/
Hockey players of Bobby Orr's caliber come along ONCE in a LIFETIME! He WAS the GREATEST player I've ever seen. Even more, he IS a DECENT HUMAN BEING, too! THAT CAN'T BE SAID ABOUT TOO MANY PEOPLE THESE DAYS!
It's too bad for him & FOR US, that TODAY'S technology wasn't available when he was playing; bc the progress in medicine has advanced so much, his injuries could have been treated differently & THAT would have prolonged his career!
I guess all we can do is be HAPPY for the years we DID get from him.
Bobby Orr was the greatest. Boston wasn't my favorite team, but Orr made me want to root for him. He could change speeds on a dime. That goal he made when the goalie tripped him was priceless. I bought a small picture and framed that photo, need to get it out of the moth balls.
A very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Bobby Orr; truly one of the GREATEST Hockey players EVER to lace on a pair of skates! A very fine man whose career was cut WAY TOO SHORT! Bobby, you are NOW, FINALLY OLD ENOUGH to retire!
