I wonder if you could find a bike shop that sells them (or sporting goods store) and try them out. It would be good to get an idea of which would work better for you.

Thanks for the bicycle trainers link. I have looked at some of these on eBay. I have looked at both kinds - fixed rear wheel and three rollers. Not sure which one to consider.

seems like it would be a lot cheaper and take up less room than an exercise bike, and you get to use your road bike!

Moved to SC a few years ago. Need to burn off some South Carolina biscuits. Love to road bike (bicycle) but cold weather forces other activities. I hope for an occasional warm day here in SC to get out riding.
