Hi my name is Margie and I am both new to the team and stepping up to try to revive this team because I believe this is an imprtant issue and I know we are all Stroner than a Mars Bar and our temptations. I was diagnosed with diabetes in 2004, and despite having a serious family history of diabetes, ignored the diagnosis I guess hoping it would go away. When I met my wonderful husband in 2006, he convinced me to take charge of my disease. I got pregnant in early 2007 and becasue of close monitoring and MY STRENGTH I had a picture perfect pregnancy. I remember my doc teling me my A1C was probably better than his. Less than a year later in October 2008, at the age of 28, I had a heart attack. I had 100 percent blockage in my LAD. Doctors were dumbfounded, and because of the way it went down (I suffered a misdiagnosis and spent 24 hours suffering before they caught my heart attack I felt so lucky go be alive that temtptation wasnt an issue. After a couple of months of living on salad, I was feeling great and losing weight. But then I fell...and seems like I never really got up till now. I am re-soarked and finding strength in the weeks since I have been back. I know I can do this. I believe you can do this too!

Hi my name is Kristen. I have been a type 2 diabetic for about 7 years. I have just recently had to start taking insulin and decided enough was enough. I need to lose weight and become way more strict with myself. I am 32 years old married and live a pretty busy life. It is a life I want to be around to enjoy for many years to come. I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest in Olympia Washington. There is a lot of outdoor activities that can be done and I am determined to get out there and start doing them!

I know what you mean!. I've been a Type 2 diabetic for 6 years & on meds for probably about 4. It seems I can manage to loose 5-8 lbs, but then I end up gaining it back. This time, I hope to be able to continue to reach my goal & work to stay at my goal weight. Diabetes runs on both sides of my family & I don't want to loose my sight or a limb as some of my family members have.
I've had diabetes for about 13 years now and have been unsuccessful in losing any weight other than the yo-yo effect. I'm looking for any help/support I can find to lose some of my weight and hopefully decrease the amount of insulin I take daily.
