Dorothy

If you tell God no because He won't explain the reason He wants you to do something, you are actually hindering His blessing. But when you say yes to Him, all of heaven opens to pour out His goodness and reward your obedience. What matters more than material blessings are the things He is teaching us in our spirit.

I believe every time I've lost (and gained) I've kept more of the new healthy habits more often and for longer periods...

My weight is day by day becoming more dependent upon Whose I am than on my circumstances and feelings.

Life here is a one-time deal. I want to live it well.

You are SO right...we do need to look at this as a healthy (lifelong) lifestyle...take it from someone who has spent a life so far of yo-yo dieting...lose and re-gain...lose and re-gain.

I too have been on SP before, and I re-joined at end of Dec '12, and hope to lose at least fifty pounds. I am here for you if I can help you in any way. emoticon

Blessings, Joanie

Small changes made over a period of time become life habits. As you change you will lose! Congrats on the 7 lb loss! emoticon

I re-joined sparkpeople in Dec 2012 with the goal of losing 50 lbs. I have been tracking my food daily and doing at least 20-30mins of jogging 4-5 times a week. So far I lost about 7lbs, its going slow and can become discouraging, but I think I will stick with it. I might have to reevaluate my goals, maybe if I have the goal of losing 1/2 lb weekly instead of 1lb weekly I will be able to see result and remain motivated.
I think I need to look at this as a new way of living and not some short-term thing.

"I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me"!!!
