Yes, as you've discovered this site is a huge...ok: VAST!... maze!! It's interesting to explore it, so you get a feel for things. Finding different parts is eased when you use the tabs at the top of the pages as a guide. Two tools can help you structure your use of time and tools here:
1. The SP Diet Stages:
The Stages slowly help us look through the layers of habits we have to examine and when indicated make subtle (and big) changes. If you follow the emails and truly read and DO the 'activities' in the stages, you'll be on a true journey. (We use that word journey a lot here!)
2. The SparkPoints Page:
I go to this page to use it as a sort of check-list; it helps me remember to use the tools I choose/need here. Just using the page this way helps me ...because I have a tendency to get distracted.

Mid-life is empowerment personified. Ok, we have some battles (some?), but Kate, this is our time. Grab hold of all the good information here at the site and along with friends you meet right here just persist in following your goals.

OMG- I have been looking around this site for several hours now- and wonder if I will ever find my way back to it never mind figure it out....It's time to get serious with my mid life weight gain. I have never had to diet and exercise- I could skip a meal and lose pounds - but now I seem keep gaining- I am sure I dont eat right- other than house work, gardening, I dont exercise enough either. I live in Central Florida and find sometimes it is just too hot to be out side. I am not a gym going kind of person either. I am trying to cut out sugars, sweets,and any white flour products likes breads and pasta's - I love beef- but have decided only to have steak about once a week. I havent found a buddy yet and did not realize I had attached myself to so many forums- but then- it couldnt hurt. I do have a job that I am thankful . I have three daughters 2 in college and one graduated and currently out of state. Looking forward to the me I will be and making new friends here.
