Those are great suggestions, I know I need more water. I drink almost none! That is bad!!

I am trying to make small changes over time, instead of changing everything in one day.

The two changes I am working on now are drinking water and doing one work out video a day. Once that becomes a habit, I will start adjusting more of my lifestyle.

I do get a decent amount of fruits and veggies, I just half to cut out the bad stuff. That is step two!

Hopefully, my energy levels will start to rise.

Hi! I too am at my highest I've ever been and am looking for friends and support on Sparkpeople while I get into shape.
I found that after I started drinking a lot more water it helped big time in my energy levels. Also eating a really wide variety of fruits and vegetables to get different kinds of vitamins. I started doing 15 minutes of exercise a day during the week and more on weekends. I hope to increase that as my body gets used to moving again. Eating more during the day will help prevent you from over eating at night. Also if you increase your water you wont be as hungry.
Best of luck! emoticon

Hello Everyone!

I am coming back to SP. I am currently at my highest weight and it is scaring me.

I am trying to count calories and work out daily, even if it is only 10 minutes.

I track with my Fitbit and Myfitnesspal, but I love SP for the community support. I am looking for friends on SP. I have to lose at least 100lbs, but I am just starting with 10lbs.

What are some ways to get energy, when you have no energy? I know, once I get a routine, my energy levels will rise, but getting energy to even start is my current downfall. That and eating. I overeat, every night.

Good luck everyone! Thanks for reading this! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hi, Marilyn here. I recently came back to SP after a hiatus. I am preparing for my right hip replacement surgery coming up March 9th. Last year I had both knees replaced. So far left hip is good. Hope it stays that way. My highest weight was 435 back on January 1, 2003. I lost 135 pounds after bariatric surgery and then slowly began gaining weight back. In April 2007, I found and joined SP. At that time I weighed 345. I got down to about 300, and then sort of fell away from here.

Several times I came back for a day, a week, two weeks, but didn't stay around long and fell off again. This time I am determined to work on reaching my long term goals. I have lost 20 pounds since January 5th and my new goal is 217. Granted, it won't be my final goal, but it will be a weight that I will be less than 1/2 of my highest weight, less 1 pound.

I have been overweight all my life and am looking forward to turning 60 with my life heading in a new direction. One that I will be able to move around and be active more and not have all the pain from being obese.

Hey There! I'm Eva. I'm a long time member of SparkPeople that has come back to the fold. I let life carry me away for a long time. I surrendered taking care of me and loving myself while I got caught up in being a mom of four, a wife, and a daughter of two challenging retirees. I regained all the the weight I'd lost before.

I'm back now. I'm not here to lose weight, because I have no intention of finding it again. I've changed the way I eat and I'm exercising and loving it. I'm making permanent changes in my behavior to make lasting changes in my body and quality of life. I'm glad to find an active thriving support team to help me do it.

Hi my name is Sandy and I have been a long time member of spark but returned back on January 5th after a one year break. I lost 10 pounds in January but my weight seems to be at a stand still. I work out an hour a day 6 days a week and eat in my calorie range 6 days a week. I go over once a week when I have dinner and wine with friends. But not normally to far over. I have a one thousand calorie differential but seems to have hit a plateau after only one month. I am still exercising but in need to pushes to keep me going when my scale lets me down and does not move.

Hello, my name is Tiffany. I am not new to spark but returned recently after a post wedding happily married caccoon of eating whatever we wanted, snuggle on the couch, ignore the world happiness. Now, although I am still over the moon happy with married life, I am focused on my health again. I went looking for some new teams and deleted a bunch that didn't really have any "life". I saw lots of posts from today in almost every forum and decided to join you all right away. Best wishes to all in our journey of good health!

Hi, I'm Shannon - I'm not new to Sparkpeople, but I got away from it for quite some time, and I never really used the boards before, but I feel like having people to relate to will help me in my goals. I live in Toledo, OH - I work at a university as a secretary, and I'm also an art student, my main focus is sculpture. I have been married for 9 years and have two beautiful dogs, Gili and Murray.

Hi! I'm Kayla, I'm 29 years old. I'm a cancer survivor and I've been married for 1 year. My oncologists have been keeping a close eye on a suspicious spot on my scans and it is FINALLY shrinking. If I have a stable scan in August I will be cleared for TTC and I have a LOT of weight to lose so I could use all the support I can get! I live in the Pacific Northwest near Portland, OR. I am not new to SP but this is a new account... I think my first one was back in 2006 and I've gained and lost and gained and lost since then. Just want to lose this weight once and for all.

Hello everyone!

I am not new to Sparkpeople but I am new to this board so hello!

I'm Jenn - 29 years old from Pittsburgh - and on my way to losing 215 pounds total. I'm a little over halfway there right now since I've started in April. The driving force behind my weight lost attempt (this time) is because my husband and I are adopting and I want to be an active mom! I also do a lot of Dietbets, which has helped me stay focus.

Feel free to friend me - I'm always looking for more support!

Hi I'm Elle. I'll be 22-years-old tomorrow and I live in England. I've been a member of SparkPeople before without much success, but this time I know I will succeed! I have 100+ pounds to loose, but I feel like my 22nd year will be the year I loose them!

i'm new to this sparkpeople forum - this is my first post ever.

i'm 35, about 190 and i'm hoping to drop some weight by eating better and going to the gym. i've surprised myself so far with my consistency at the gym and while i manage to come pretty close to hitting my goals on the food tracker, i find that my complete lack of culinary skills makes it difficult for me to find stuff to eat at meal time.

anyhoo. i hope you all will have some suggestions (preferably the kind that don't involve cooking...) so, thanks in advance!

Hi all, I joined sparkpeople last May but didn't use the site much until this past September. I have a history of losing large amounts of weight but then gaining it back. Working on making lasting changes this time around.

Hi! I'm Laura and I've had success using Sparkpeople years ago but gained it all back. So now that I've had my second (and final) kid, I'm starting anew. I'd love to make new SparkFriends because I feel that community is key to success! I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you!!

Hi.

I recently came back to Spark after many years away. I'm at the heaviest I've ever been but hoping to make slow changes that will stick. My boyfriend owns a brewery so we are around craft beer a lot. Over the past couple years all those empty calories have added up.

I'm hoping to make some friends on Spark to help me feel like part of the community. Feel free to add me as a SparkFriend if you are interested in doing so.

Happy Wednesday,
Laura

emoticon Hi everyone! I am back on SP after a three year hiatus. I was losing weight to get pregnant and...then I did! So that's great, but then I gained it all back after breastfeeding. I am back on SP to finally conquer my relationship with food and to get back to onederland (which I haven't seen since my 20's). I am 37 years old and I have a 2 year old. I am also in my last year of graduate school. Woot!

I'm a 30 year old woman who is lucky enough to have been married to my amazing husband for almost 11 years. I've been blessed with 2 children (boy and a girl) and am currently living in southern Kentucky.
As of right now, I'm weighing in at 100 lbs over a healthy weight for my height. It's so hard for me to write that because quite frankly, it's embarrassing that I've allowed myself to go this far. I've made excuses...heck, I'm pretty sure that I'm the Queen of the Excuses, but at the end of the day, I have absolutely no one to blame except for myself.
My goals is to simply exercise daily and to eat within my calorie limits. My hope is to lose all 100 lbs by January of 2017. But most importantly, I pray that I begin a healthy lifestyle. I'm so tired of being...tired.
I can't wait to meet you all and watch you accomplish all of your goals along this journey!

Hi everyone! I'm back on Spark after a while of inactivity. Started back up right after the New Year and this time trying to just lose it the healthy way, and not in a hurry for someone's wedding or event, etc. and with a fad cleanse or anything that is not maintainable. So far it seems very doable as a continued lifestyle and doesn't feel like a crazy restrictive diet which was my goal. :) DONE being the fattest in my group of friends, being winded from climbing stairs or hiking, hating all my clothes, and not being excited to go anywhere bc my confidence is down. I'm down 7lbs so far, 53 more to go! Good luck to everyone! We got this! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hi!

I'm Tee and I'm very nearly 46 years old (17 days!) and I have a 5 year old son. Yes. I had a baby at 40. Yes. I'm insane. emoticon

Anyway, I did Spark eons ago and was successful then got pregnant and fell off the wagon big time. I'm a type 2 diabetic and my weight is not good for that, so here I am again, trying to hit my goal!!

Oh I also have a husband, live in Belfast and am a Graphic Artist and writer.

emoticon emoticon

I'm back after having been away for ages and ages! Trying to lose about 30lbs this time!

Hi, I'm Chris, 28 and from Germany. I have been on SP for some time now, but due to a lot of work and stress during the last year, just didn't have the energy and focus to commit to my weight loss. Now, it's a new year, the stress is gone, I have far less work and now it's perfect timing soo... here I am!! My goal is to look awesome on my 29th birthday on June 28th. I hope to get some support for when it might get a little tough or frustrating and I'm happy to give support to other team members whenever needed. :-)

Hello Done Being the Fat Girl friends,

My name is Renita. I am 36 years old and have struggled with weight issues for the past 10 years. I have tried every diet out there just to lose the weight and gain it all back sometimes even double what I lost. This time I want to do it the right way. I just signed up for Spark at the end of December. I want to be successful in losing 80 pounds and keeping it off for good.

I am open to becoming motivation buddies with anyone who is interested. We can become healthy together!

Hi I'm Brianna. I was on sparkpeople about a year ago and then life got the better of me. I'm back. I'm a 26 year who has always had weight issues. I can't really remember a time when I wasn't the 'biggest' in the class. I have 140lbs to lose to make my goal weight and can use all the encouragement I can get seeing as I live in a house where snack food is the norm.

Hello everyone! I've been on Sparkpeople awhile off and on but I've been back for awhile. I'm 30 years old and was morbidly obese all my adult life. Last year I lost 70 pounds and it has felt like a weight has lifted off my shoulders. That's my little piece about me! Thank you for welcoming me back into the group. emoticon

Hi there!

I've been struggling with my weight for most of my adult life, and last summer, was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. In an effort to get my eight under control (to improve my symptoms), I joined Weight Watchers on Decemeber 13th, weighing 273.6 pounds. My first weigh-in was the 20th, and I was down 2.6 pounds.

I decided to join SP to help support my WW journey.

I'm happy to have found your team. I'm Sheri and live in the Phoenix, AZ area.
I've been married over 40 years and we have one daughter.

New Year 2015:

2015 is the year I really want to be done being the fat girl, mom, wife, mother-in-law, friend etc! I want to feel great and know I'm healthy.

I have about 30# to lose but more importantly I want to get my blood sugar number down below "pre-diabetes".

In 2015 I turn 60 and our only daughter is getting married so losing weight is a bit of a vanity thing too. emoticon

I really want this year to be truly "Done in 2015!"

Hi everyone I am new here. I have a massive amount of weight to lose so i'm aiming at 50 lbs. per time as a goal. I have struggled with staying commited to any program and came across sparkpeople while doing an internet search. I'm hoping to meet fun, supportive people who have the same goals as myself. So far i'm liking the website however i'm sure i'm not understanding the entire thing and all the benefits it has to offer so any suggestions and tips would be appreciated !

I've been on spark for years. I mainly use it now to keep in touch with friends, but I also want to get into the habit of consistent exercise and better eating habits. I've struggled in the past a lot with both, so I am hoping this Winter challenge is the way to keep me accountable. I don't own a scale, I am actually not concerned with the number, I just want to feel healthier, as of right now I don't.

My name is Mary and I'm in my twenties. I am married and have a five year old son. So my journey began about two years ago. I started to notice that I was slowly putting on weight. I was constantly spread thin between being a mom and working/going to school full time and staying up late to hopefully see my husband on skype (he was stationed 1500 miles away in the military). Let me say this about skype: it's amazing. If it wasn't for skype I would have lost my mind worried.
Back to my story, I was gaining weight from all the stress in my life and not having any time to work out. Frankly, working out has never been any fun for me anyways. If there was a reason to skip it, consider exercising skipped!
Over the last year I told myself repeatedly that I had to do something. I took actions a few weeks ago on SP. But I really haven't taken anything seriously. Flash forward to a week ago... I was buying jeans at my favorite store. I have gone from a 26 inch waist to a 31 inch (and that is a tight squeeze to get into the 31 inch waist). Five plus inches? That cannot be right.
I'm trying to keep myself more motivated and I've taken steps to reduce the stress in my life. Now, I just need the help and motivation to lose the weight. I work one full time job, I do not go to school anymore, and my husband is home. Although right now he is working seven days a week so I don't have a whole lot of me or us time.
I'm here to find quick and easy exercise work outs that are fun to you guys. I will be getting my treadmill in about two weeks. I do not have a gym membership. Also my only time I can work out is when my son is sleeping. So no loud work outs. Oh and I do eat fairly well on a regular basis. But I do have a bad habit of grabbing a piece of candy, that turns into a handful, and end up being half the bag. No big deal right?

Hello everyone, I'm Christine, 43 (almost 44), separated, no kids, live in San Jose, CA but originally from Philadelphia, PA (go Eagles!! lol), I have never (not even at birth) been a "normal" weight I've always tipped the scales and about 20 years ago I went from the chubby/fat girl to the morbidly obese/fat girl and I can't do it anymore. My knees ache (arthritis sucks, FYI), my hips ache, my breasts are so heavy that my neck, shoulders, and back ache, and I haven't been able to clip my own toenails in years.

I need to change!

About a year ago I hit 405 and it scared and shocked me. I've since lost about 42 pounds just by paying closer attention to what I'm eating...in a few months I hope to be undergoing a sleeve gastrectomy at which point my changes will go into overdrive!

I don't have a weight loss goal - not a size or a weight - I just want to be healthy (no more high blood pressure!) and active and a happy camper! emoticon

I'm not a very social person, which makes this journey more difficult for me, so I'm hoping that joining these forums will help to keep me motivated!

Also....if you know any cute guys in the Silicon Valley area who like bigger girls please let me know. emoticon

Hello!!!

I'm a 29 year old woman who has been married to my wonderful husband for 10 years. God has blessed us with 2 children. Our son who is 9 and our daughter who is 1. We live in the southern part of Kentucky, but I was born and raised in a small, farming community about 45 min out of Cincinnati, Ohio.

I've always had a hard time with my weight. I always hoped I would grow out of my whole "chunky" stage and I did...just not the way that I was hoping. I grew right out of my "chunky" stage into my current "obese" stage. As of right now, I need to lose around 110 lbs to get to a healthy BMI. Huge task, but with my family's support, you all cheering me on, and God helping me, I know that I can do this!

Feel free to stop by my page and introduce yourself. Also feel free to add me to your friends. I can't wait to meet all of you and to watch you guys not only meet your goals, but bust through them!

I've been active on Spark and working on a new healthy lifestyle for almost two years now. I've lost about 90 lbs and improved my health vastly. I'm working on the last stubborn pounds but I've vowed to be even more stubborn than they are!!
Oh.. my name is Leslie, I'm married and I have two kids (16 and 21), a dog and a cat. Look forward to making more spark friends here!

Hey Everyone!
My name is Jess and I am a 31 year old single missionary living in Latin America! Because I am living in such a small village with not many of the conveniences of the western world (minus internet thank goodness), I've had a really hard time finding a support group in my weight loss journey. I joined spark people a few weeks ago but missed the past 5 days because I was away on a "work" retreat. Now that I am back, I'm ready for action! I am particularly encouraged/motivated today because I just bought a scale on my trip home from the retreat and since I hadn't weighed myself since April (and before that, who knows when) and I'm actually 18lbs lighter than I thought! (I thought I was somewhere around 270 and I actually weigh 252!). I still have a lot to work to do, so any encouragement you could offer would be amazing! And Hopefully I can be just as encouraging back!
Jess

Hey, girls! My name is Diana, and this is my second time on SparkPeople! My first time was in 2012, when SparkPeople helped me lose 25 kg, but since then I've been on and off the wagon. Now I'm back, ready to start over for the last time and this time go all the way! I still have about 15 kg to lose, and I have many things to learn to be able to keep everything off. I missed the support here. This team is perfect, there's so much energy and spirit here from all the members! I am very excited to being a part of it! emoticon

Hello, my name is Amanda. I originally joined SP in July of this year. I then had a grueling knee injury followed by surgery and a lot of physical therapy. I logged back in on October 22nd and I am so happy to be back! My goals are to keep positive, be patient with this process, make time to exercise everyday (even if for only 15 minutes on a couple days), become physically stronger and lose about 40 pounds. I love to walk! Walking was my go to exercise before my injury and I am getting back into it...and it feels so good.

Been here a long time ago while I was still in Shelton living with my youngest daughter and her husband and their 2 girls. If you don't remember me my name is Darlene but I like to be called Dar now. I live in Tacoma and would you believe that my youngest daughter and her husband and their youngest daughter is living with me again in a one bedroom apt. Now the oldest granddaughter is in college in Oly while I'm stuck with then again and would you believe there is no room in a one bedroom apt. Lost my husband 9 yrs ago and I'm still a christian lady and going to a very nice Church here in Tacoma just down half mile from were I live now. When I left my old Church there was a pastor named Bruce and now my new pastor is named Bruce. I think God had a plan for me when I told the old Bruce if he moved I would follow him but didn't know God had another Bruce in stored for me.

Anyway I'm glad that I'm back with this team. May God bless each and every one of you.

Dar

Hey everyone! I've been absent from SP for a long time but I'm back for some extra accountability. I am 31 and live in MN. I've been pretty successful with weight loss this year but then I got injured and had to have surgery and October I've been eating off the charts and put some lbs back on - less than impressed with that. So I'm back!
