I am not new to SP, I am not new to dieting and I am not new to fitness. I have however had a hard time staying motivated the past several years. I have always been a healthy weight. Before I became pregnant with my first son I was 150; I am 5'2. When I became pregnant I made the huge mistake of eating for 2 in both my pregnancies. Over the last 6 years I have been struggling with being over weight. While pregnant I exceed the 200lb mark and after I have been stuck at 191. That has been my magic number, I keep telling myself that I will not get up to 200 again. Well, I gained 5 more lbs and it finally made me realize that something needed to be done to get this baby weight off. I am a size 18 pants and a L/XLG shirt depending on the designer. I carry my weight in my belly, hips, butt and thighs. I know that it is not going to be easy, but no pain no gain. I will fight through the voice that has always said that I can't be thinner and that I can't lose the weight. I will push through the pain to build a new and better me. So that I can be healthy once again. I am done with the feelings that bring me down. I am done with the attitude that I can never be better. I am done with the physical laziness that holds be back because I don't have the energy.I want to be a better role model for my children. I AM DONE!!!

Well like so many people I found good success which spark and this group about a year ago and lost 30 lbs. Well I have now gained that all back plus a bit more so here I am. Staying motivated is really hard and this group helped me in the past! Makes me realize how important consistency is with working out and what I am eating.

Hi everyone,

I was successful a few years ago utilizing Sparkpeople to lose 60 lbs. Since then a lot has transpired in my life and I've jumped up to a weight I never thought I'd see again. BUT starting today I am on a clean eating lifestyle. Drinking more water, cutting out white grains and sugar.
Hope to use Sparkpeople to finally get to my goal weight and keep it off :)

I've been using Spark People for a few weeks and I too am DONE Being the Fat Girl. I'm on a pretty happy but realistic path - I'm losing the weight slowly but I refuse to give up. And I want to live life now - not when "I lose the weight" so I dyed my hair pink, I'm learning to play the ukulele and I'm transitioning out of the frumpy fashion slump I have been in for the last decade.

I'm very active on 30-somethings with 100+ pounds to lose, and am happy to find another wonderful supportive group to go through this journey with!

I'm 31, a Stay at home mom, with 3 beautiful kids and loving even though very sabotaging husband.

I would really like to lose 186 lbs, but my big goal for now is 112! I miss Onederland! emoticon

I always had around 50 to lose but the last 5 years or so have been super rough and I ballooned in weight like... well a balloon.. emoticon

Hello everyone! My name is Crissy. I'm 30, been married 10 years to my amazing husband, have 2 children (9 year old son, 2 year old daughter), and I've been blessed with the ability to be a stay at home mother.
I've joined SparkPeople because I'm so tired of being unhealthy and not being comfortable in my skin. When I started, I weighed 220 lbs and I have so far managed to lose 20 lbs. My goal is to weigh 100 lbs. which would put me at a healthy BMI for my very small height of 5' 1".
I can't wait to get to know you all and watch you all accomplish all of your goals and then some!

Starting slow is good as long as you don't let yourself slack emoticon
I started slow in January and February started pushing myself more. My Mom gave me a suggestion that seems silly but it works, put a sticker on the calendar for every day that you achieve your goals. One sticker for each goal that you accomplish. You then get to the end of the month and are proud when you see all that you've accomplished. I find it really helps with drinking water. If I am at 6 cups of water, I push myself to drink the two more before bed just so I get my sticker lol.

Those are great suggestions, I know I need more water. I drink almost none! That is bad!!

I am trying to make small changes over time, instead of changing everything in one day.

The two changes I am working on now are drinking water and doing one work out video a day. Once that becomes a habit, I will start adjusting more of my lifestyle.

I do get a decent amount of fruits and veggies, I just half to cut out the bad stuff. That is step two!

Hopefully, my energy levels will start to rise.

Hi! I too am at my highest I've ever been and am looking for friends and support on Sparkpeople while I get into shape.
I found that after I started drinking a lot more water it helped big time in my energy levels. Also eating a really wide variety of fruits and vegetables to get different kinds of vitamins. I started doing 15 minutes of exercise a day during the week and more on weekends. I hope to increase that as my body gets used to moving again. Eating more during the day will help prevent you from over eating at night. Also if you increase your water you wont be as hungry.

Hello Everyone!

I am coming back to SP. I am currently at my highest weight and it is scaring me.

I am trying to count calories and work out daily, even if it is only 10 minutes.

I track with my Fitbit and Myfitnesspal, but I love SP for the community support. I am looking for friends on SP. I have to lose at least 100lbs, but I am just starting with 10lbs.

What are some ways to get energy, when you have no energy? I know, once I get a routine, my energy levels will rise, but getting energy to even start is my current downfall. That and eating. I overeat, every night.

Hi, Marilyn here. I recently came back to SP after a hiatus. I am preparing for my right hip replacement surgery coming up March 9th. Last year I had both knees replaced. So far left hip is good. Hope it stays that way. My highest weight was 435 back on January 1, 2003. I lost 135 pounds after bariatric surgery and then slowly began gaining weight back. In April 2007, I found and joined SP. At that time I weighed 345. I got down to about 300, and then sort of fell away from here.

Several times I came back for a day, a week, two weeks, but didn't stay around long and fell off again. This time I am determined to work on reaching my long term goals. I have lost 20 pounds since January 5th and my new goal is 217. Granted, it won't be my final goal, but it will be a weight that I will be less than 1/2 of my highest weight, less 1 pound.

I have been overweight all my life and am looking forward to turning 60 with my life heading in a new direction. One that I will be able to move around and be active more and not have all the pain from being obese.

Hey There! I'm Eva. I'm a long time member of SparkPeople that has come back to the fold. I let life carry me away for a long time. I surrendered taking care of me and loving myself while I got caught up in being a mom of four, a wife, and a daughter of two challenging retirees. I regained all the the weight I'd lost before.

I'm back now. I'm not here to lose weight, because I have no intention of finding it again. I've changed the way I eat and I'm exercising and loving it. I'm making permanent changes in my behavior to make lasting changes in my body and quality of life. I'm glad to find an active thriving support team to help me do it.

Hi my name is Sandy and I have been a long time member of spark but returned back on January 5th after a one year break. I lost 10 pounds in January but my weight seems to be at a stand still. I work out an hour a day 6 days a week and eat in my calorie range 6 days a week. I go over once a week when I have dinner and wine with friends. But not normally to far over. I have a one thousand calorie differential but seems to have hit a plateau after only one month. I am still exercising but in need to pushes to keep me going when my scale lets me down and does not move.

Hi! I'm Kayla, I'm 29 years old. I'm a cancer survivor and I've been married for 1 year. My oncologists have been keeping a close eye on a suspicious spot on my scans and it is FINALLY shrinking. If I have a stable scan in August I will be cleared for TTC and I have a LOT of weight to lose so I could use all the support I can get! I live in the Pacific Northwest near Portland, OR. i'm new to this sparkpeople forum - this is my first post ever.

i'm 35, about 190 and i'm hoping to drop some weight by eating better and going to the gym. i've surprised myself so far with my consistency at the gym and while i manage to come pretty close to hitting my goals on the food tracker, i find that my complete lack of culinary skills makes it difficult for me to find stuff to eat at meal time.

anyhoo. i hope you all will have some suggestions (preferably the kind that don't involve cooking...) so, thanks in advance!

I recently came back to Spark after many years away. I'm at the heaviest I've ever been but hoping to make slow changes that will stick. My boyfriend owns a brewery so we are around craft beer a lot. Over the past couple years all those empty calories have added up.

I'm robyn,married,no kids,in my 50's,stuggle with my eight most of my life.I stuggle with compulsive eating .I do ok until I go on a binge.When I binge I binge heavy time and can put on 10 lbs or more.My binges can last up to a couple days..I eat crap too.Trying to eat helthier foods and get some exercise.It helps me feel better about myself.I stuggle some with making myself do it.I find it boring at times.I have a mp3 but don't know how to load music on it so I won't get bored during exercising.

I'm a 30 year old woman who is lucky enough to have been married to my amazing husband for almost 11 years. I've been blessed with 2 children (boy and a girl) and am currently living in southern Kentucky.
As of right now, I'm weighing in at 100 lbs over a healthy weight for my height. It's so hard for me to write that because quite frankly, it's embarrassing that I've allowed myself to go this far. I've made excuses...heck, I'm pretty sure that I'm the Queen of the Excuses, but at the end of the day, I have absolutely no one to blame except for myself.
My goals is to simply exercise daily and to eat within my calorie limits. My hope is to lose all 100 lbs by January of 2017. But most importantly, I pray that I begin a healthy lifestyle. I'm so tired of being...tired.
I can't wait to meet you all and watch you accomplish all of your goals along this journey!

Hi everyone! I'm back on Spark after a while of inactivity. Started back up right after the New Year and this time trying to just lose it the healthy way, and not in a hurry for someone's wedding or event, etc. and with a fad cleanse or anything that is not maintainable. So far it seems very doable as a continued lifestyle and doesn't feel like a crazy restrictive diet which was my goal. :) DONE being the fattest in my group of friends, being winded from climbing stairs or hiking, hating all my clothes, and not being excited to go anywhere bc my confidence is down. I'm down 7lbs so far, 53 more to go! Good luck to everyone! We got this! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I'm Tee and I'm very nearly 46 years old (17 days!) and I have a 5 year old son. Yes. I had a baby at 40. Yes. I'm insane. emoticon

Anyway, I did Spark eons ago and was successful then got pregnant and fell off the wagon big time. I'm a type 2 diabetic and my weight is not good for that, so here I am again, trying to hit my goal!!
