Monterey is definitely beautiful. My grand-mother lived in Pacific Grove when I was growing up and I stayed with her for a week or two, walking downhill to the beach nearly every day.

I love the California coast. The rugged wildness of NorCal to the serene warmth and beauty of SoCal. I have a the pleasure of living near the NorCal coast and often visit the beaches nearby. The walk from my town to Monterey is 150 miles. I have already walked over 3 miles this week so this is a do-able goal! Hmm, wonder if it will be warm by the time I get there?
