7/4/11 = 1.05 - lots of windshield time getting to Milwaukee Brewers game

The bike miles are surely speeding up my trek to Minneapolis. I only have 32.31 to go. I could almost say that I could make it there by the 4th of July, but that is tomorrow, and I my butt would be too sore - not worth it!

oh my - was good thing to come in and read that last post -

I had a great week last week through Saturday. I volunteered at our church picnic on Sunday serving sno cones in the heat. I think I had a heat stroke or something - got one heck of a headache (I don't use the word "migraine"..but..) Spent Monday in bed all day and felt lousy Tuesday, but Wednesday went to the gym and got some walking on the treadmill. The weather has been unbearable, but at least I am feeling better.

It was bike to work week, and I haven't done that either - maybe tomorrow but it looks stormy and rainy which we had our share of last night.

I'll open a new message and start my June walking miles.

Crossing over....

WOW - I really feel like I've crossed over - exercising every day is soooo helping my mental attitude. I feel absolutely charged about this and wanted to share.

I used to be such a couch potato - although busy working and family duties kept me from being a really starchy vegetable - it was close. I never liked exercise much - I don't like to sweat and I don't like knee pain, etc.

Now, I crave some movement at the end of the day if I haven't gotten a walk in at lunch - or even if I have but it doesn't seem like enough. I am walking 1.5 miles minumum MOST days, and now I am riding my bike to work. Today was a bike riding day, and as I cruised along on my bike a really stinky car came by (like a gas smell), and I thought about my carbon footprint - whoa! THIS IS A NEW ME!!! I never had a thought like that as long as I've lived!

May 2 = 1.29 miles
May 3 = 2.00 miles
May 4 = .32 miles - how LAZY!!
May 5 = 2.33 miles - had to go to the healthclub for that one!
May 6 = 1,01 miles
May 7 = 3.83 miles!
May 8 = 0.85 miles
May 9 = 2.27 miles
May 10 = 0.51 miles - what the hay?
May 11 = 2.44 miles
May 13 = 1.38 miles - and biked 8 miles!
May 13 = 1.79 miles
May 14 = 2.00 miles
May 15 = 0.89 miles - it WAS my birthday!
May 16 = 2.59 miles
May 17 = 2.48 miles
May 18 = 1.88 miles
May 19 = 1.2 miles
May 20 = 1.93 miles
May 21 = 1.74 miles
May 22 = 4.02 miles ------total so far for May 41.14 miles, 61.79 miles since 4/9
May 23 = 3.21 miles
May 24 = 1.21 miles & rode my bike 8 miles round trip to and from work.
May 25 = 1.81 miles
May 26 = 1.41 miles
May 27 = 1.02 miles
May 28 = 1.15 miles
May 29 = 3.11 miles
May 30 = 3.15 miles
May 31 = 2.34 miles

Total for MAY = 59.61 miles PLUS 16 miles on my bike!

Here's the list of days and miles (from my pedo) since I started my walking rampage. I don't think I'd be out of Madison yet, but I'm still walking:

April 9 = 2 miles
April 10 = 1.3 miles
April 11 = 2 miles
April 17 = 2.45 miles
April 18 = 2.2 miles
April 19 = 0.6 miles
April 20 = 1.42 miles
April 21 = 1 mile
April 24 = 1.83 miles
April 25 = 1.45 miles
April 26 = 0.47 miles
April 27 = 0.94 miles
Apirl 28 = 0.48 miles
April 29 = 1.18 miles
April 30 = 1.33 miles

April total 20.65; approx. 250 miles to go!

This is funny because for the last three weeks or so, I've been posting randomly on Facebook saying how long of a walk I got that day. A few old high school friends are commenting and admiring my efforts from a far. My very best friend from High School said something to the effect of she was going to have to start watching for me in her neighborhood.

She is in Minneapolis and I am in Madison Wisconsin - about 271 miles.

It will take me a while, but I am going to find a way to do this by the end of the year.

I commit to maping my progress here.
