What a great idea

Smile .... it makes people wonder what you're up to ;-)

It is far easier to MAKE time to exercise than it is to FIND time to exercise. You want results???? MAKE it happen.

Keep trying - you CAN do it - believe in yourself!

Thanks FinFin. Your picture reminds me of my brother. So you must live in Alton, East St. Louis, Carbondale? I have relatives in East St. Louis.

63360 divided by your average stride length (in inches) should give you steps per mile. (63360 is the number of inches in a mile.) take the number of steps on your pedometer and divide it by your steps per mile. This will give you the number of miles you walked. (My steps per mile is about 2116.)

To get my stride length I measure twelve steps to the nearest foot. The number of feet measured in 12 steps should be equal to the number of inches in one step.

I live just 113 miles south of Gays, IL.

Hi....Great Idea!
I decided to start slow...Babysteps. So Charlie, my sweet dog, and I are going to walk to my brother's home in Gays, IL which is 54.6 miles. Today...according to sparkpeople map route...I walked .14 miles. So only 54.46 miles to go...whew!!

My question is....how do I configure steps from a pedometer to miles?

April 21, 2011 Miles walked .14 only 54.32 Miles to go.
April 22, 2011 Miles walked .27 only 54.05 Miles to go.
April 23-24, 2011 Miles walked 5.33 only 48.72 Miles to go.
April 25, 2011 Miles walked .27 only 48.45 Miles to go.
April 26, 2011 Miles walked .27 only 48.18 Miles to go.
April 27, 2011 Miles walked 0.0 only 48.18 to go.
April 28, 2011 Miles walked .26 only 47.92 to go.
April 29, 2011 Miles walked .26 only 47.66 to go.
April 30, 2011 Miles walked .26 only 47.4 Miles to go
May 1, 2011 Miles walked .32 only 47.08
May 2-May 19, 2011 walked 4.59 only 42.49 Miles to go
