Thank you ladies for your input. I'm glad to know that it is helpful in the pain management but wasn't happy to hear about it making you so tired Kim. I already stay so tired. LOL. My Dr. said to make sure when I took it to take it with some form of protein. Maybe that's suppose to help with the nausea? I appreciate you both responding with your experience.
Hope you have been getting along well with all this drastic weather we've been having. Have a great weekend!

I have been on Cymbalta now for over 2 yrs. I started taking this methotrexate and plaquenil also. It definitely helps with the pain. My diagnosis is Lupus,Fibromyalgia,Sjogrens and a whole lot more to also include RAD. Gotta love it huh. To answer your question it has been a two-fold drug for me because is helps with the pain and with the highs and lows of someone like me with multiple crap and everyday life let downs. I am on 60 mg 1 time a day. I take mine at night because it can make you tired. Just important to be consistent in taking at the same time daily. Hope this helps you

Kim

I took Cymbalta for a short time last year. It did/does help with pain management. It upset my stomach a bit for the first week or so, but I was able to do more. This was during the time I was on Actemra and it wasn't working as well as the remicade had previously. I'm now on Orencia and don't need the extra boost from the Cymbalta.

Hi All,
I was just wondering if anyone with RAD takes Cymbalta and if so does it help with your pain?

I went to my PCP in Dec. to get results from a bone density scan. After she told me about my diagnose I just started crying. (I even went in expecting this diagnose and lost it) I don't know why but I just felt that it's been one thing after another and wondering if I'm ever going to get off this ride and I just felt frustrated. After talking about my options for my bone loss she suggested that I take Cymbalta since I was so emotional. I told her that I didn't want to take meds for depression but she said that the Cymbalta will also help with my RA pain. She was also suggesting this because I refused to take remicade infusions at the time that my RA Dr. had suggested. I was taken off Embrel to try Humira which I had a bad reaction too. Then Remicade was suggested but I refused that for now.

The only meds I take at this time is methotrexate 7 pills 1x a week and hydroxychloroquine 2 tablets daily. I was weaned off the prednisone as it was upping my sugar. My RA dr gave me a script for pred for flares which I've only taken once. It makes me feel so much better but I have to try to stay away from them. Then my dr. started talking about taking insulin for my diabetes so I could take the prednisone but I don't want to start doing that if I don't have too. If the Cymbalta will help with the pain I thought I would try and take it but wanted to find out what I can first.

So I was wondering if anyone takes the Cymbalta and how it works for you, any side effects , etc. I did go get it filled after it became generic but have yet to take it. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
