We aren't planning anything in particular. We'll probably grill and have a picnic, weather permitting. We've had so much rain, that it will be so nice to enjoy some good ole' sunshine. I'll catch up on laundry, weeding, etc. too.
It's the Canadian long weekend this weekend to celebrate Queen Victoria's birthday and so far this weekend, I've had a family meeting with DH and his sibs about their mum, hiked for an hour with all of them, got my pots ready for plants and sat on the deck reading my book.
I also did laundry and some cleaning and grocery shopping.

Hi and congratulations to you and your daughter. 21 is special! It really depends on what you guys like. What does your daughter enjoy? When my daughter was 21 she liked to go clothes shopping and out to lunch with me. She, of course liked to be with her friends and have a small party with food, movie and games. She liked to go to the game rooms and play, too. I would go with food, friends, clothes, party. Now if your daughter likes the outdoors that's another story. She may like to go to the park and have a picnic with her friends. Go hiking or canoeing. If she likes to be with her pets she may enjoy doing something with them. Having a party with pets is fun. She can have a pet turtle race or take a walk with you and friends with her dog(s), etc. I just don't know you well enough to give you ideas that you might like, but those are some ideas that could be fun. Okay, what about going to the beach, a lake, swim and play volleyball? Or something like that. I know that 21 year olds like family, but they like their friends more at that age. She might like a night out with her boyfriend, if she has one. With family going to her favorite restaurant is nice. Of course presents are always something she would want. Jewelry, clothes, gift cards, anything you know she likes. There are always water parks and amusement parks. Oh and don't forget the pictures and facebook! Which brings to mind, maybe she would like a photo shoot. Have her change her clothes, hair, make up! My daughter would have died for that. I did that for her last year just for fun. Then printed out the photos in a photo book. She loved it!
Happy Birthday! And good luck!!

Cynthia, 21 is a BIG birthday! I'm a really sentimental person. I always think of "heart" things. Maybe if you could write out 21 things that have made your life wonderful because she became your daughter??? I just love things like this - treasures of the heart.
Wishing your daughter a wonderful birthday - and a happy celebration for your whole family!
