Its a shame exercise is such a chore for you, that will make it harder to stick with it in the long run for sure. The key is finding something fun you enjoy doing that will keep you active. I am fortunate that I really love exercise and its a big part of my day. I feel so good when I can exercise and move. I had to find things I liked to do. I love the water and how it supports my joints so I really got into water exercise classes -they are high energy with upbeat music and won't put stress on painful joints. If you like dancing at all, a Zumba class would be just the ticket. They have something called Zumba gold which is intended as a low impact, easier to follow routine for seniors. There are even special classes for people with arthritis. Exercising in a group allows you to interact with others and perhaps find an exercise buddy to keep you motivated. If you don't like a group there is always DVD's which you can get for free to try out at the library! You never know what you might like until you actually try it..

I'm sorry I didn't welcome you here on this thread until today. I'm so glad you requested my friendship...Please jump right in and get involved in the team. We are an active team and there are some great people here. I think you can gain a lot from the team --lots of info and lots of caring people.

I'm a 55 year old woman that's been struggling with her weight most of my adult life. For over 18 years I managed to keep a 105 lb weight loss but when menopause hit 7 years ago, everything that had worked in the past no longer worked.
I'm in full menopause now so I feel it's time to get my weight back on track as it should be. Daily I'm learning new things about myself and what I need in my life to make me healthier and happier. I'm learning to eat with better nutrition in mind and am trying hard to get back into a daily exercise routine I can live with. I doubt I'll ever love exercise, but that's ok. The important thing is I do it to better how I feel and how I move. I know I need to get in as much exercise a day as I can since I have RA and inflammation in my joints and back. I know the more I do, the better I'll feel. So I'm making myself do it.
I actually have about 100 lbs to lose to be at the weight I want to be but 75 lbs would bring me to a much healthier level than I am now.
