I'm so glad the diet and exercise is helping. I keep hoping to at least reduce the amount of medication I need but so far, no luck. So, just trying to maintain my levels. I'm not good at exercising so not terribly optimistic about losing weight but I can keep my numbers in check.
I was diagnosed with diabetes in 2010. I did the diabetic diet for a year and lost 65 lbs. Then I hit a plateau for a while then gained 17 lbs( by cheating). Needed to make a change again and started a new diabetic plan with help from a nutritionist. I have been off meds since March and I simply use food and exercise to control it. This change has to be a life long change in order to maintain my diabetes.
