Hi Sarah Jane. Welcome to the team. I like your philosophy. Two years ago I would say I was 110 years old. Now I feel like I am in my 30's. I am 58. I don't think I have ever been this healthy except when I was a kid. I am so glad that you have decided to join us on this journey. You will definitely feel and see the difference.

I, too have a band which was installed October, 2009. In the first 15 months, I lost 115, but, due to various circumstances revolving around depression and anxiety, I stopped losing and then regained about 70. I've been at work on reversing the trend for several weeks now and doing some exercise for the first time. I'm feeling positive thus far and aim to stay that way.

Take this first week to familiarize yourself with the tools here. Once you get used to using them, it becomes easier to use them even when you are busy. Personally, I spent my first week learning to use the tools, and just tracking everything I was already eating and doing for exercise. It gave me a baseline to work from. It also gave me a chance to really decide what my goals were, and how to get there.
This site can only provide the support and the tools to reach these goals. You need to put the hard work in. Personally, I end up kicking my own butt every day. Feel free to check out my blogs to see how I kick my butt out the door to get my fitness in. I can tell you, once I am finished with my exercise for the day, I feel great. No more I should do this and I should do that. Instead, I feel accomplished, and able to relax and enjoy the rest of my day.

I have dealt with obesity issues since I have been six years old and now Im what you might say is midlife. (Age is a relative number to me, my mother had a philosophy your'e not old until you want to be) I am coming here now because I did get what has been for me a godsend, a lap band in 2004. It helped me get 145 lbs off and keep them off for the first time ever for more than a year. This was the fifth time I lost more than a 100 lbs in my life as well. However, the journey needs to get going again as I just let it stop after l I had further surgery and gained about 15 back. I need some accountability and am ready for it and ready to interact online again. I also feel I have a lot of knowledge that I can also share.
