I hope that you have a Therapist to whom you can turn to share your troubles, and hopefully be given the tools to help you over this hurdle! They help to deal with some of the causes of depression - i.e. troubled childhood, tragedy, etc. Are you on meds? If not, then it may be that an appointment with your Dr is indicated. Sometimes depression is a side-effect of medical issues, including things like PCOS, Hypothyroidism, Diabetes, etc. A simple blood test would reveal if these are an issue. IF you are on meds, then it might be that a medication review is needed.

Welcome to a team of people who understand the issues you have mentioned in your post. Depression is so difficult for others to understand because they often think you can "just snap out of it." We know that isn't true. However, you will find that adding physical activity to your day will benefit you in more than one way. Obviously it will allow you to burn more calories and it will also help boost your mood. Start with trying to add just 10 minutes of a physical activity you enjoy to your day. Keep in touch.

I have struggled with depression for most of my life and lost quite a few friends because of it. The more depressed and alone that I feel, the more that I eat. I am ready to lose the weight and live a healthy lifestyle.
