emoticon CHAESMUM and emoticon to SparkPeople and the team...Nice to have you with us on the journey to a healthier lifestyle.

You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.

Mistakes are the portals of discovery.

Don't be afraid to give your best at what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.

It is never too late to be what you might have been.

Hi. Welcome to SP and to the team. Life can be perfect but you can still feel empty. Unfortunately as we get older, we lose people and life is no longer the same without them. Both my brothers were married after my Dad passed. They were beautiful weddings, happy occasions, but something, someone was missing. It does spoil the day a bit. You do think if only Dad were here. But you know what he was there. I want to share something with you.

"When I come to the end of the road
and the sun has set for me, I want no
rites in a gloom filled room; why cry for
a soul set free? Miss me a little but not
too long and not with your head bowed
low; remember the love we once
shared, miss me but let me go...

For this is a journey we all must take and
each must go alone. It's all a part of the
master's plan, a step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart, go
to the friends we know and bury your
sorrows in doing good deeds;
miss me but let me go..."

I love SparkPeople

Welcome to our team!

You have come to the right place to find support on your fitness journey. With Spark, you are NOT DIETING---you are BECOMING MORE FIT. Spark is not a diet. Diets are a setup to fail. Spark is not about deprivation. It is about making healthy choices in your nutritional intake and in your exercise. The Spark fitness program works the best when you set your fitness goals then make small lifestyle changes at a time until those changes have become a habit.

My heart goes out to you in your grief following your mother's death. The following is the link to an article on dealing with grief:

The following is a poem (author unknown) which has meant a great deal to me:

"When I die
If you need to weep
Cry for whatever separates you from anyone I love.
And when you need me
Put your arms around each other
And give whatever you need to give or receive from me.
I wanted to leave you something
Something better than words or sound.
Look for me in the people I’ve known or loved
And if you cannot give me to them
Let me live in your eyes or touch
And not on your mind
You can love me most by letting hands touch hands
By letting heart reach out to heart
And by letting go of anything
That makes you un-free to love each other.
Love doesn’t die.
People do.
So when all that is left of me is love
Give me away to one another."

Best wishes to you on your life's journey.
