WOW - I am NOT impressed - I posted on this thread yesterday but it has disappeared :-( Obviously the gremlins have been at work!! There has been so much going on since that I will just say that I have read the posts, but at the moment am too tired to respond, other than to say that those who are having a difficult time, know that the good times are just around the corner.

Deb - Feijoas are also called Pineapple Guavas in some places. They are green and egg shaped and generally up to about a couple inches long. Normally they are cut in half and the flesh scooped out, but some people eat the skin on some variants because they aren't quite so bitter as others. Below is a link that has lots of pictures of them,
www.picsearch.com/pictures/Food%20!!

and seeing them made me WANT SOME, so I think I will toddle off and have some with my Hot Chocolate before bed :-)

Nite all,
Kris

WTG Roxx on going back to work.
I will be having surgery Monday and will be off for several weeks , this has me worried because working really gives me meaning and purpose. I am going to be using this time to work on a WRAP (wellness recovery action plan) for my weight loss journey. I am also going to work on building support network out side of work. My depression is hitting me because of the stress and fear of surgery but I know it will pass as long as I am working on positive things. emoticon

Started work again today. I was anxious but it felt really good to get back into it. I'm going to get in at least an hour of fast paced walking everyday from my job, wonderful! I'm so tired.

I hope that you all are having the best of days. It looks as if things are going pretty well for everyone.

Formybella, keep the faith. Things will get better every day if you can work on it and try to stay active. Focus on the good things that you get done in a day. Getting dressed is an accomplishment! Have you ever tried keeping a journal to help you recognize your triggers and help you through the emotional portions of your day? I like to write three good things that happen to me during the day in mine. It helps me focus on the positive, while helping me deal with the negative. It is a good way to get rid of all the emoticon s in a private way.

Janlee, Happy belated birthday!

Beckafano, I schedule exercise into my day too, or I would never get it done. If I make it like an appointment with a scheduled time frame, then I can get myself up and get it accomplished.

Sweetsaddiction, Kudos on the medication change if it is helping you to sleep better at night. The May Day baskets and the deep tissue massage sound great.

JoJoSparkle, have you ever tried getting up early to exercise? Perhaps you could start off your day with activity, instead of ending your day that way when you are tired and worn out. When you have a busy lifestyle, scheduling in exercise and meal planning seems like a good plan. Beckafano has some good ideas for you.

I am going across the river today to Vancouver, Wa to visit with friends. I have an extra day off. so I am going to go play. I rarely have the chance to do something completely fun. I am sending hugs and positive energy to all that need them. I hope that you all have the greatest of days. Take care and God bless, Deb T.

Some suggestions are;

While at your son's games and/or practices, don't sit. Walk around the field or pace the sidelines. Anything is better than nothing.

I would also suggest getting a calendar and scheduling in exercise. A calendar will show all of your activities at one glance and you can prepare ahead of time for busy days. For instance on days that are not busy, make exercise a priority. Then on busy days you won't have to feel guilty, because you have a plan to make it work.

I would also suggest a rough meal planning. It is the same idea as scheduling exercise. Prepare ahead of time healthy snacks. Research and commit to healthy eating out. When you know you 'have' to eat out and eat unhealthy, make up for it with 'really' healthy meals during the rest of the day and/or rest of the week. For example I have to eat out on Thursdays, so I usually have a smaller breakfast and lunch. As long as I'm somewhat careful with what I order at dinner, I can usually stay close to my calorie range. Or you can 'pack' your meal and just take the kids out.

If I come up with anything else I'll let you know.

Trying to figure out how to work in exercise after work. I have two kids and taxi them to their hockey and lacrosse, plus doctor appts, cooking, cleaning. On busy nights, how do I fit it in? expecially when I'm so tired.

I'm still struggling to get back to exercising. I'm exercising, but not at the intensity or as often as I'd like to.

Thanks so much for the encouragement all. As a matter of fact, I do have a pair of socks with tassels. At about 5 pm I remembered I had an important meeting. Cursing like crazy, I got dressed (Yes I was in my pajamas all day) and went over to the meeting fully intending to just make an appearance and get out asap. Well, it didn't happen that way. I was the first one there and the hostess (a personal friend) and I started talking business but somehow, we got off topic and when she realized I was totallly zoned out, we started talking about a friend of hers who is walking Hadrian's Wall and she read a daily journal of emails from her. Soon we were both laughing like crazy ladies. The third person came and no business was discussed. The person who called the meeting didn't even come and called at 9:00 to say she couldn't make it. Welllll! to make a long story short, we laughed and joked about various things and I went home after 11:00 feeling very uplifted. Laughter is truly the best medicine. I am soooooo much better today and I hope everyone else is too. Happy belated birthday Janlee.

Just make sure you keep up teh eatin Jay-Nine, even lil bits at regular intervals. (I have had depression shut down the appetite before, it can get out of hand).

Do the socks have tassels? That would be cool.

Well, now I have to take my own advice and pull up my socks. I've been on a bit of a downslide for the past few weeks because of the upheaval of renovations. Hopefully it's over this week and then I can finally do my spring cleaning which is badly needed now. Asthma and allergies are also protesting. Strangely enough, I really don't want to eat. I've never had this problem before. It's always been wild cravings and binging, but I'll take it since there's not a chance it will become anorexia. lol.
I hope things seem better soon because I know it's MY perception (Yes, it's in my head) that's the problem.

FORMEBELLA - I agree, any weight loss is good, but don't just look at the numbers. Take the time to realize that there are other things you are gaining and accomplishing through this. Do you feel better? Are you less tired? Are you more proud of yourself in general? The number on the scale is just an 'indication' of your work, not the whole fact of it.
Also, I have struggled my whole life to 'belong' somewhere. I finally think I've found it at my church, but there are always going to be days that no matter what, where we are or who we're with, we will feel that way. The Bible says that Earth is not our 'home.' It is where we live until we get home. So when I start to feel like I don't belong I remind myself that it is a good thing, because there is something better waiting for me.

I did well this weekend. My husband was gone all day Saturday and I thought for sure I was going to eat everything in sight. But I did pretty well and when he finally did get home he wanted to go out to eat and I didn't get anything (which is hard for me.) I ate a small amount of leftovers instead.

FormyBella my heart aches to hear you are so down. But Lotus is right. Allow yourself to wallow in it but promise yourself you are worth it and get up and get out even for a short walk or just run in place during commercials on TV. 3-5 spurts still add up and it doesn't take away from your time if you are watching a program.
The longer you put it off, the harder it will be to actually do it. Please don't get more discouraged.
Wake up tomorrow morning, look in the mirror and say, "I love you. I am a good person. I deserve to be my best." Say it enough and you will start believing it and feeling better. Try to find one good thing that happened today and make a note of it. It's hard to start with but like the good self talk, it does make you feel better. You are not alone.

FORMYBELLA, sorry you are having a rough time. It's great that you have been eating well even if you haven't exercised. Give yourself credit when it is due. There are days when the last thing I want to do is exercise or take a walk but I force myself to keep up the routine even if it is only a 5 or 10 minute walk around the block and I always feel better after. I hope that you feel better. Keep your chin up and don't get discouraged. You're not alone. emoticon

Hi Litechick, hope that you have a terrific weekend.

Jaynine, I love to camp. We should be kicking off our camping season where I live, over the Memorial Day weekend. Memorial Day is May 28, 2012, this year. We had a small trailer that we used to park up at the lake for the summer. We spent every weekend and holiday camping up there for years. The kids absolutely loved it. Now, I camp in the mountains closer to home with the grand kids who enjoy it just as much. Camping presents wonderful opportunities for hiking and nature walks, and family quality time. Have fun.

Kris, today is the big day. Enjoy!! Hope that your weekend is going well. What kind of fruit are feijoas? Do we have them or something similar to them in the States?

I am helping my Dad move this weekend and I am just getting ready to go on up and get started. He lives about 45 minutes away in the mountains. I am hoping that the weather holds and I will get in a hike along the Pacific Crest Trail. It should be a busy weekend. I will certainly get my exercise one way or the other.

I hope that you all have a great weekend. As usual, sending hugs and positive energy to those that need them. Have a blessed Sunday all. Take care and God bless, Hugs, Deb

Just checking in. We picked up our tiny perfect trailer from storage and have parked it at a facility closer to home. We do this because we live in Toronto and storage facilities here are more expensive than in the country.
For me, this means that spring is officially here and we will be camping in just over 2 weeks!
I have no choice but to get out and enjoy nature, walk and be with other people. The "May 2-4 weekend" is a three day weekend simular to your Memorial Day weekend only we celebrate the Queens Bday.
Time to do laundry to take advantage of the lower weekend hydro rates. Keep positive and you are in my prayers.

Deb - sometimes work CAN be pleasurable :-) Great news about your tests.

JANLEE - how old is the daughter's grandson? I would imagine he would be really chuffed to see him :-D

I went outside just before lunch and picked up the Feijoas on the ground. There were a couple really huge ones. Most peoples' trees have had big ones this year. I have starting lightly stewing them for the freezer to last me when they are out of season because that is my MOST FAVOURITIST fruit of all time, and I can eat gallons of them - LOL.

Hi everyone,

Formybella, Congratulations on the weight loss!! I'll take a 1.9 lb loss any day. I would give myself a reward and a big pat on the back. I'm so sorry that your Mom's in the hospital. I will say prayers for a speedy recovery.

Kris, congratulations on your new appointment!! That is fabulous. You do so very much for so many and you deserve this honor. Enjoy!

I got through the last of my health tests yesterday. The endoscopy and the dreaded colonoscopy are over. I have a clean bill of health. It is nice to know that after a solid two months of tests, I am not going to keel over anytime soon. I will be very happy to confine my doctor visits to scheduled pdoc and therapy appointments. My daughter is going to California for at least two days. So, I have the days off. Micah will be spending the time with his Aunt Indyca. This has worked out well, since I have to go up to the Locks to help my Dad move this weekend. It is so beautiful up in the mountains, that it won't seem too much like work at all. We are doing all the hauling ourselves with Dad's old truck. I hope that it goes fairly fast, so that I have time to hike one of the trails near his home. I should be burning some calories this weekend. I am sending hugs and positive energy to all that need them. I hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend. Take care and God bless, Hugs, Deb

MIA for a few days again. I took s/father to the hospital OP again on Thursday, and had a fair bit of stuff to do for him and Mum, including cooking their dinner to go with the Roast Beef and Gravy I had taken up for their dinners. Mum was sound asleep when we got back at 5:15pm, so it would have been a bit much to expect her to turn around and have dinner ready. The Caregiver comes usually around 6pm to get him ready for bed.

FORMYBELLA - Sometimes I would only loose that amount of weight in a month or more, but I CELEBRATED the loss - not beat myself up for it. It is lots of these little steps that add up to the big loss - in my case approx. 60lb that I no longer carry around.

I pig out on occasion - this isn't about deprivation or starvation, but a healthy balance. I strongly suggest that you give yourself permission to eat whatever you want one day in every 2 weeks. That way you are less likely to get bored or feel deprived, and that in turn will help to prevent you falling off the wagon. I practice what I preach so KNOW that it works!!

I am rather excited at the moment - this Sunday the new "Class of ...." starts - I have been chosen to be one of the two Team Leaders for it, so on top of what I do already, it will add a little more 'business' to my day - LOL!

Nite all,
Kris

Formybella may I please put a positive spin on what you wrote. OMG you lost 1.9 pounds that's amazing! Take out almost 2 pounds and realize it's no longer part of you. Don't belittle your accomplishments. And oh, you ate three Resse's Peanut butter cups. Bet they tasted good at the time. Don't spoil that good taste. Give yourself credit for stopping at just 3.
Don't blame yourself for the weather. Ask yourself if you can do something about it or if it's in your control. I don't assume you have a God complex so - you know you cleaned. It doesn't matter if there's dust from the lousy wind. You clean again when the wind dies down. Please don't worry about what you personally can't control. Keep on hoping. Try to put a positive spin on what you perceive. It does work.
Feeling better doesn't happen overnight. Give yourself a break and become your own best friend. Try to find one positive thing every day.

Just want to pitch in in support of Jay-Nine's comment about being patient about meds. I talk to a lot of depressed folks, and one of the ongoing battles is finding the right combination that has efficacy and does not have side effects so negative it's not worth it. Keep communicating with your pdoc so adjustments can be made as quickly as feasible. Stick with it too, it's worth it :)
cheers,
BB

Good for you for making a decision to get up and at 'em Roxx. emoticon
Sweetie, it took 5 different meds before the finally figured out that I have seritonin syndrom and can't take any of the new-class drugs. I've been on Zoloft for over 2 years now and I'm more even than I've ever been. The highs aren't so high and the lows are just dips in the road.
Keep at it and don't give up. You WILL get to a good place. Oh, and the 'Korean' tacos that I know from an actual Korean restaurant are similar to a soft taco but I thinks they are wheat, not corn. All the ingredienst come on a divided dish and the "tacos" com in a steamer. I don't think TGIF's do authentic Korean dished. My favourite Korean food is the Korean BBQ where you cook your own stuff on a hibatchi in the center of the table. I particularly love the kimchi which is pickled cabbage with a hot pepper sauce mixed into the leaves.
I hope everyone has a pleasant weekend. Keep positive. emoticon

Ok, I'm getting back on track today. I've been pretty far from healthy living lately and I can feel myself literally getting weighed down. No more! No more eating a box of cookies in one sitting, no more staying in bed til mid afternoon, no more sulking around the house on beautiful warm sunny days when I could be outside, moving and feeling good. I'm getting back into my healthy routine and a week from now I will be on top of the world.

I understand not wanting to get out of the house. My trick is to get fresh veggies and get to know the farmers then when it is busy this summer you will have familiar faces. I can focus on the farmers instead of the crowd. It is worth a try or find a farmers stand where there is just one farmer

I'm trying to figure out what to eat today. I am going out twice in one day (it wasn't avoidable) and its so hard because other people get to pick the restaurant both times. I just hope I make good decisions. I've started off right by looking ahead at what my options will be and how I can best utilize my calories.

Just slept nearly a day and a half, gotta love depression. Nice day out though, once I caffeinate hope I'll find the get up and go to go work out.
Farmer's market here is always too busy for me, I get all agoraphobic there. Though I don't think the season's actually started for us yet. Glad you enjoy it Linda, great food to be found.

Sorry I haven't been around lately but the school district keeps calling me in to sub or to help out in class. I had to stay home today because my son was running a 102.6 temp yesterday at school. Robert's temp broke at 9 AM this morning. So he will be going back to school tomorrow. I have stayed the same for the past three weeks. I am glad because I have not been able to work out any because of the subbing. I will start back working out on Friday and hopefully no obsticles will come around this next week.

I hope everyone has an Awesome Evening with whatever you do.

The tent was dry when we folded up the tent trailer. April camping in Oregon it is not usually dry, it is hit and miss. The wedding and birthday party went well. I am going to have to make juice. I can not eat spinach cooked and I got too much to go in my salad that is still fresh.

update on the gift card reward. i stil have last years card havent used it yet, but i am up to 44.00 not including the 4.00 i owe it from the last four workouts so far. this year the goal is to get 156.00 this year. which breaks down to three times a week. thinks i am a little bit behind but it will get better. i should mention that a cardio workout combined with a strength workout count as two workouts but hasnt done that in a while needs to get past this blue mood thing.
i have an interview on may 7 for a step down job going to go to see what is there. but dont think i will take the job. still have several postings to wait on and two more on the board that i will be sending off on tomorrow. the interview practice will be good.

Yep, sounds familiar, except I used to say "It's Wednesday and I'm not dressed yet." Don't beat yourself up too much about it, that's how depression works. Good luck with the battle my friend, and be kind to yourself while you fight it.

Good Morning everyone,

I hope that all had a good weekend.

Janlee, it sounds like you caught a great break. Hope you enjoyed relaxing around the house and I hope that the roommate had a great time at the casino.

Hi Tabitha, welcome to the team. I find exercise helps with my depression too. So does coming here and receiving all the good advice that my teammates have to give.

Formybella, I love the idea of your rock jar. What a fun motivator.

Sweetsaddiction, It is quite the achievement to have all those exercise hours in. What a great reward at the end of the year!! What a thoughtful gift.

Hi Becky, I love redecorating. It sounds as if the project is very colorful and cheery.

Hi Lynne and welcome to the team. I have to remember my baby steps when I begin to feel like you do. If I can get myself dressed and around, that's goal met. It makes me feel better about myself. Maybe some scented candles and some mood music would be tempting.

Hi Kris!

I had a great time in Washington this weekend. Went for a long walk along the river, just watching the river traffic and listening to the tide lap the shore. It was very peaceful and calming. We came home and barbecued for the first time this year. We just had hamburgers but they tasted absolutely wonderful. It was a very relaxing visit and just what I needed to soothe my mind.

I hope that you all have a wonderful week. Sending positive energy and hugs to those who need them. Take care and God bless, Deb

morning people and i really do appreciate the feedback. yes i am seeing a counselor in addition to the meds. the exercise outside is something to think about even just getting rides on the motorcycle should help with (SAD) sunshine and vitamin d. trying to the the husband to get the pool up and running before the summer sets in and would stupid to put up at the end of summer.

on the jar thing my daughter came up with the idea of putting $1.00 on a gift card for everytime i work out. last year i had 137.00 on the gift card at the end of the year meaning from 0 exercise to 137 which breacks down to everythird day that is quite and achievement.

BUDDHABUTCH - Mrs Sprat - that is funny :-) It actually suits us, too. He drinks alcohol (like LOTS) - I don't drink any! He smokes - I don't - he likes lots of margarine on bread etc. - I don't - LOL!

SWEETSADDICTION - it COULD be that your body is still getting used to the new medication, OR you may need a bit stronger dose. Is the Dr a Psychiatrist? If not, then perhaps it might be beneficial for you to ask your Dr for a referral to one - they are best qualified for this sort of thing. If he IS a Psychiatrist, then be guided by him. Unfortunately sometimes it is a case of playing around until you find the right one or combination for you. It can even come down to the dose and/or the timing of the meds. Are you having therapy to? If not, that is an avenue WELL worth looking into! In the mean time, ensure that you are eating a good balance of fruit/veges and protein/fat, AND force yourself to get SOME exercise into your day. Strange as it may seem, exercise, particularly outdoors, helps reduce tiredness/fatigue!

Deb - glad that your day was been beautiful :-)

TABITHA826 - hi! Welcome to SP and welcome to our Team :-) Hopefully you are receiving qualified help via meds and/or therapy for your Depression! You will find that this team, and particularly this thread is very good at supporting each other! I look forward to hearing more from you :-)

JANLEE - yaaaaaay for family birthday parties, and yaaaaaay for the casino - LOL!

FORMYBELLA - that is a REALLY COOL idea about the rocks for your exercising :-)

Becky - sounds like quite a good time:-) How about putting a photo of your stripy wall on your SparkPage - I would love to see that!

Hi Lynne - welcome to our team, and welcome to this thread - it is a great place to come :-) What is happening that the depression is putting in a strong appearance? I think that perhaps it may be time for a Dr's appointment - sooner rather than later! One of the things re the shower that I have found is that if I put a heater into our bathroom and get it nice and warm, AND if I still don't feel up to actually getting into the shower or bath, then having that warm room and warm water in the handbasin makes it inviting for me to give myself a really good sponge-down without the effort or time that it takes for a conventional shower/bath. That leaves me feeling lots better about myself! Worth a try???

Good afternoon. I just joined this team, although I've been Sparking on and off for 4 years.

It's 3 p.m., and I'm not dressed yet. Sound familiar to anyone? Arguing with myself about getting in the shower. Yep, I'm in the black hole. I've been here before and I should know my way out.

Just wanted to introduce myself and not do too much whining. And, there's no cheese with this whine. I hope you are all having an okay day.

Welcome Tabitha!

FROMYBELLA - I love the idea of a rock jar. I hear doing that for different reasons, but not that one. I'm definitely going to think about doing that.

After such great progress the week before last, I didn't exercise at all last week. Monday and Tuesday I was tying to get a project done that I had put off. Wednesday and Thursday are church events and Friday I went out with a friend after work. I don't get to see her often, but I love it when I do get to see her. We stayed out till midnight. Saturday I finished painting one wall in one of the spare rooms (I did 4 different color stripes,) then I got sick and Sunday I made home made potato chips with my nephew, played Mario Cart with him and finally finished the picture. For the most part it was a great weekend.

Glad you're having a good day Janlee

New to Spark...not new to depression. Hoping that a lot of the depression part is related to how I feel about myself. Regardless I am a work in progress and look forward to have the Spark support!

Sweetsaddiction, Yes, this is a great forum for the depressed soul. I take Wellbutrin myself. My pdoc put me on Abilify to go along with the Wellbutrin and it works really well for me. After I started the Abilify, I felt tons better in a very short amount of time. I am not a doctor, so I am not prescribing. I just think that there maybe more options for you out there if you are concerned about doubling or tripling your meds. It often takes such a long time to reach the right cocktail. Trial and error are the only ways. Are you seeing a psychiatrist or a gp? I am sending you hugs and positive energy in the hopes that you will feel better soon.

I am taking a rare day off from babysitting my grandson and spending it in Vancouver, Wa, with my friend Christine. The weather here in the Portland, Or, area has become absolutely gorgeous. After days and days of gray, overcast, wet weather this is a nice change of pace. It reminds me of why I live here. I don't know exactly what I am going to do there, but I do see at least a long walk beside the Columbia River, in my near future. I hope that everyone is having the best of weekends. Take care and God bless, Hugs, Deb T.

yeah finally found a depression forum to be part of yippie. hi people really needs some advice feel free to send private message if you need to. recently was changed from well butrin to pristiq. i personally dont see a whole lot of difference in my behavior from one to another. i still feel like i have the weight of the world on my shoulders, i still feel tired all the time, i am still not real motivated in any direction work home relationships family or even fun. after a recent meltdown in jan and being off work and battling not to double or triple my meds the doc changed me to pristiq late feb early march. i just did my first refill of the pristiq and will see him in about a week to discuss this med and i just dont have an answer. do i let him increase it stay the same. i dont know.

I had a good, blob-out day today - never woke properly until 9:45 a.m., tutu'd on the computer a fair bit, but I DID manage to do something. I did 3 loads of laundry, and made up 2 different stews - one for hubby and one for me, - 8 meals worth each, (and did the dishes that goes with it.) He can't eat the high fibre stuff - has to be low residue, and I have to have very high fibre!

It isn't even 9 p.m. and I am looking to go to bed again :-)

SILVERSPRITE - sometimes it isn't 'picky' as such that causes and alzheimer patient to not eat. Sometimes it is losing the abibility to know what to do with food, as in chewing. Sometimes it is better to give soft, mashed food, or pureed. Don't mix it all up tho', because having a variety of tastes and colours is still important. I had one who had developed the loss of interest in food, but she LOVED the colour pink. Of course, that meant that I would put food colouring into h er potato etc. to make it pink. She would eat it all and love it. I made heaps of cremed soups for the residents, and they loved them - full of nutrition. I made sure that every one had good protein in - from fish, or chicken, or red lentils, etc. Another thing that you may find helpful to prevent him missing out on essential nutrients - Ensure or Fortesip! They are in drink form, and supply everything except the fibre.

INFOBABE - you are MORE than welcome:-)

I had a busy few days. My Stepfather's appointment at the hospital went well. He can now have his sling off, but I have had to make him promise me that he won't venture downstairs or out into the garden without my being there, because it is still too dangerous re his poor balance control. I then took him to the Dr the following day. I discovered that my mother had been getting confused with his meds so had to explain it to her again. It is in a blister pack and the narcotics are trayed up by me because by law here the pharmacist isn't allowed to blister pack those. Anyway, his appointment with the Dr went well. I made a heap of soups for him while I was up there, so they are in the freezer for his lunches.

I got back home at nearly 6pm both days, so today I am rather tired - I ended up having a 2 1/2 hr afternoon sleep. Mind you, part of that tiredness is that my older grandson went to Australia to live with his Dad. Hubby had me set the alarm of 2 AM this morning so he could go in and say good-bye to him before they left for the airport at 3. G/Son had asked hubby to bring in a "granny milkshake" for him. He LOVES them, so I was pleased to know that he had that as his 'last meal' here for quite a while! I'm really going to miss him, and hubby will too - he was quite distressed last night about it.

Anyway, I'm off to get our dinner ready.

Day from the fourth level of Hades, you know how it goes...a friend says something hurtful, and the next thing you know you're overly sensitive and convinced that everyone from the High Queen of Narnia on down to your dog have had enough of you. (No, perspective is not my long suit when I'm feeling rejected.) Had to make a lot of judgement calls today too, when I wasn't really feeling a lot of confidence in my judgement. Just made me want to hide.

Good part...I got to the gym. It seems exercise may be developing into a healthy coping tool (though I do suspect I might've done a few too many squats...please have a little robot follow me with a cushion tomorrow. I might decide to sit down.) I didn't exactly feel BETTER, but I also felt like I could handle the way I did feel, sorta.

Anyway, I made it through the day, that's a win, eh? Or is it a whine? Possibly, if I'm lucky, it's a wine.

Litechick, Glad to see that your lousy night has turned into a better tomorrow.

Janlee, I'm sorry that the roommate is not cooperating with the Spring cleaning. It is really nice of you to offer to help him get his things in order. I hope that your walk helped.

Infobabe, Great that you are getting on track with your food and exercise! Soft ball sounds fun. You sound motivated. Have tons of fun on your weekend getaway.

I have been catching up on my reading. Other than that, I have been very lazy. I had my pdoc appointment today and no med changes. That is a blessing. I am driving up the Columbia River Gorge today to see my Dad. I haven't seen him in ages so it will be fun. The drive is beautiful and very peaceful. If it weren't raining, I would go on a mountain hike. It is pouring here, so the hike will have to wait until this weekend when the weather is supposed to clear. He is getting ready to move to a new apartment and I need to see what I can do to help. Dad is 85 and in great health. He's as fit as he was in his 50"s so I am very lucky. I doubt that there will be much left to do. We have some things that he wants to drop off at the Goodwill before he moves and he wants me to drive the truck to the drop site. He's a pretty organized kind of guy. I hope that you all have a great up and coming weekend. Sending out positive energy and hugs to all that need them. Take care and God bless, Deb T.

Doing better today. Getting the knack on what to eat for energy and accountability. Excited about my weekend getaway so may not exercise too much but I will in the next few days. Softball season is just about to start so I need to go to the weight room today even though I'd rather stay home and bake. I'm glad a belong to a great group like this spending alot of time online now! Have a fabulous day! emoticon

Its almost midnight and I am going for a long walk before I hurt the roommate or myself. He is driving me nuts again with all his whining that all I'm doing is throwing all his junk out. Well if he would help I wouldn't be doing that. I could just throw out everything in his room and the living room instead of going through all these boxes which aren't even mine.

Working on today I'll deal with tomorrow later. Found a student academy and got a perm first time customer and got 25% off They did a fantastic job---going back-- haircuts shampoo&style only $18. Getting adjusted to living with my D&Family its a bit hectic sometimes. My husband is so picky and I need him to eat (wish I had that problem LOL) he has early Alzheimer's tiresome trying to plan meals but he is not losing anymore weight---That is the upside with living with family I'm able to get out of the house for a few blessed hours.Talk to you later Mary

Yesterday I had to go to my parents to take my mother to the medical centre for a check. As a result I have to take her BP when I am up there tomorrow and if it is still high she has to go back on Friday. I took my older grandson up with me because on Saturday he goes to Oz to live with his Dad, so considering my Mum is 90 and S/Father 92, there is a possibility that they won't see each other again.

Tomorrow I go back up, but this time because have to take my Stepfather back down to the Hospital to the Pacemaker clinic to see how it is getting on - the following day I have to go back up to take him to his GP! I'll be doing meal prep while I'm up there. I made Mum and heap of Tomato Soup today, because she can't do it. My stepfather is allergic to onion, and unfortunately it includes the smell - he becomes violently ill!

Nite all,
Kris

Had a few good days but now I feel like I am about to do my roommate some bodily harm if he doesn't start helping me get the trash out to the dumpster especially since most of it is his stuff and not mine. Oh well guess I'll take a long walk instead.

A little better of a day since stopping the herbal supplement, but got alot on my mind. Pushed myself to exercise and that made a difference in my drowsy/lethargy. Gonna try it again today. My meds make me so drowsy I am not sure there is a way around it except drink tea or move around more often instead of sit on computer. Have a great day everyone and I like your positive outlook!

MSTRAIN35 - The best advise I ever heard on the roller coaster of life is; Get the most out of your good days and see if you can observe what it was that made it good, and learn from the bad days - a day is never wasted as long as something is learned.

Been doing great with exercise, but struggling with eating. Now that my exercise routine is down, I'm going to try to really focus on what to do about eating.

Deciding what you want your life to be like is not hard. Deciding what you are willing to do and give up to get it, is the hard part.

Yesterday was a rough day for me. Seems I have a good day then a bad day. I'm still getting things done that I need to do but on the bad days its just harder. On the good days I can get thngs done with no complaints at all. Bad days it seems like I'm tired all day long. Blah. Looking or ways to get off this roller coaster. emoticon

Sorry I have been MIA this last week. The supervisor at the school was on medical leave for surgery and I had to fill in. So I didn't get a chance to go by the fitness center to work out. I'm just so grateful that I didn't gain any this week. I was looking forward to working out this week at the fitness but received a text to do lunch duty all week. I was talking to another worker at the school who was doing recess duty today, Thursday and Fri. So I asked her if she could trade duties with me. She said yes so that she didn't have to be outside. So I am going to hit the gym tomorrow after dropping Robert off at school.

Hi all,
Litechick, I hope that you had a great day in class.
Mary, I did the same thing that you've done. I moved in with my daughter a couple of months ago and condensed my 3 bedroom house to one bedroom in her apartment. I have most of my stuff in storage as well. My move was necessary too, lost my home to the bank after 20 years. This economy is lethal.
Kris, it only cost me 20.00 to have my hair cut. If it had been anymore expensive I would have had to have taken out a bank loan to afford it.lol
I haven't done much today. I did get out of the house for my walk, but other than that I've done little. I went to the store to do some needed grocery shopping and ran a few errands. I haven't even watched TV today, just read. I have the baby tonight. Jen has an interview this evening for a new job, so I will be babysitting. Sending hugs and positive energy to all those that need them. Take care and God bless, emoticon Deb
