Welcome to the team. I'm glad you've joined us.

I, too, deal with depression and anxiety. I take my meds everyday and try to deal with the down days. I have a great neighbor who knows about my depression and she's most helpful in keeping me busy a couple times a week. Even if to drive her somewhere or to play our favorite board game.

Stay positive. As someone said, 'this to shall pass.' Stay in touch through posting. We're here for you to offer support and encouragement. margi.

Welcome to our team!

You have come to the right place to find support on your fitness adventure. Spark involves a change in consciousness. You are not dieting--you are becoming more fit. In other words, exercise is equally important as dietary controls.

Here's a link to a Spark article called "Getting Started." It provides some guidance in navigating this site:

Come back and post often. Research shows that those who participate actively in their weight loss community lose more weight and keep it off. I'm glad you've joined us!

Glad you chose to join us on this journey to a healthier and happier lifestyle. You will find support and encouragement here whenever you post. Do come back soon and post often for the most benefit.

For additional motivation and inspiration, read some of the Success Stories above. These are about ordinary people who have achieved extraordinary things with Spark People.

I suggest you use the Nutrition Tracker, above under My Tools, to identify where your calories are actually coming from. It also contains recommended ranges of nutrients to support a healthy weight loss program. This is not a diet, nor is it about depriving yourself. It is about getting more fit and having the confidence to take control of your eating.

Set your goals and take small steps to meet those. Look at it as a daily commitment to achieve that day's goal for satisfaction with self. I do 10 minutes of exercise daily. It isn't much but it is moving me forward to my ultimate goal of 30 minutes. I see it in doable increments...not in something I'm too frustrated to achieve.

Welcome. I look forward to reading your posts.

Hi, I was diagnosed with dsythemia and major depression episodes several years ago. This summer my medicine was increased. I have good days and not-so-good days. Today with the rain and chill, I physically hurt which affects my mood sometimes. Otherwise a good day.

Thanks.
