I'm way late on this and can't remember if I've done this before. I'm just glad to find folks in Nashville. I hope to find some new like-minded friends for support and motivation!



1. What is your Name Name (What would you like us to call you? In case you object to "Hey You")? It's Trecesa.

2. What is the story behind your User Name? It's easier for me to use my real name than to make something up. LOL!

3. Where in the Nashville area do you live? Antioch, and I love it, but I've been known to tell people I live in Cane Ridge as well as Northwest Lavergne.

4. How long have you been Sparkin'? I can't remember when I joined. At least three years.

5. What is your biggest weight loss obstacle? I am my biggest obstacle. I will rationalize my bad habits.

6. What is your biggest weight loss success and/or the biggest hurdle you've overcome? My biggest success was several years ago (70lbs) but I've gained it back. My biggest hurdle is having the courage to start one more time.

7. What are your goals for the 12-wk challenge (or your Spark goals if not in the challenge)? My goal is to be healthy and lose weight. I'm taking baby steps and they're paying off.

8. What can we do to help you reach your goals? I would love to meet some new people for motivation and support.

9. Give us a random fact about you that'll help us get to know you better. I have a crush on Kal-El and Sterling Mallory Archer. I know.... I know....

10. Have you ever tasted ear wax? HAHAHAHAHAHA! The things kids put in their mouths!

3. Where in the Nashville area do you live? La Vergne

4. How long have you been Sparkin'? Joined last year, but just started again yesterday. I want to stick with it this time!

5. What is your biggest weight loss obstacle? Addiction to sugary foods. I've recently been able to stay away from them. (Only two days of giving in over the past two months!) It is so much easier to eat healthy the more I avoid sugar.

6. What is your biggest weight loss success and/or the bigggest hurdle you've overcome?
See question # 5!

7. What are your goals for the 12 wk challenge (or your Spark goals if not in the challenge)?
To get back to a morning exercise routine: a mile on the treadmill (running or walking) before I hop in the shower, 3-5 times a week.

8. What can we do to help you reach your goals? I'm not sure. I know that I have a better chance of success if I'm more active in the community, so that's why I'm posting this! If there are times when people get together to walk or do something active, I think that would help me stay motivated.

9. Give us a random fact about you that'll help us get to know you better: I'm very eclectic in my interests and hobbies. This makes it easy to meet new people because I can almost always find a common topic! (This is very helpful, since I am also naturally shy.)


10. Have you ever tasted ear wax? No, and I hope I never do!

5. What is your biggest weight loss obstable? Compulsive eating/overeating, sticking with goals, being honest with myself

Attend my 12-Step meetings a minimum of 5x wk, 15 min of exercise daily, always eat at the table

8. What can we do to help you reach your goals? Remind me to take this one day at a time and that 15 minutes of exercise goes by REALLY fast so get off my butt!

9. Give us a random fact about you that'll help us get to know you better. I'm an addictions counselor with an addiction (ironic huh?)


10. Have you ever tasted ear wax? Oh, yes, unfortunately, and most definitely not intentionally

5. What is your biggest weight loss obstable? I love food, my family loves food. I do fine when I am alone, but when Hubby is home or the kids come over I loose all control

A few years ago I lost 100 lbs. I loved how I looked and felt.

I want to get back to the weight I was

DH is a long haul truck driver so I am alone a lot but when he is home he takes me dancing

5. What is your biggest weight loss obstable? Time!!! I work 80+ hours a week at 2 jobs and I cant find the time or motivation to get up and work out in the mornings before going into the office or on my 1 day off a week.

6. What is your biggest weight loss success and/or the bigggest hurdle you've overcome? I lost 15 pounds before 3 years ago when I lived in NC and had a personal trainer! I felt great, I want that feeling back.

7. What are your goals for the 12 wk challenge (or your Spark goals if not in the challenege)? I want to weight 125 again and then work on defining my muscles which then weight wont matter to me since everyone knows muscle weighs more then fat!

8. What can we do to help you reach your goals? I need someone else or multiple people to push me!! I slack if I dont have someone yelling at me.

9. Give us a random fact about you that'll help us get to know you better. - I love music, anything and everything that has to do with it and the business. Not random but pretty important.

4. How long have you been Sparkin'? Since 2011 but never really got "involved"

5. What is your biggest weight loss obstacle? I love food. Carb cravings. Portion Control. Complacency.

6. What is your biggest weight loss success and/or the biggest hurdle you've overcome? Completed my first 1/2 marathon in Spring 2012. I had asthma as a kid so running was never much part of my life. I still don't consider myself a runner, but I respond well to challenges I guess.

7. What are your goals for the 12-wk challenge (or your Spark goals if not in the challenge)?
To lose 50 pounds by 2/14/14 as a gift to myself. Short-term is 10 pounds by my birthday - 9/24.

8. What can we do to help you reach your goals? I need motivation and accountability. But, I think mostly just being able to read other's struggles and successes is what's going to keep me going strong.

9. Give us a random fact about you that'll help us get to know you better. I have recently developed an unhealthy addiction to Pinterest.

My name is Brad and my high school & college ice hockey number was 23. I was number 88 in high school Lacrosse and 8 man is my favorite position when I played college rugby.

Nestled between Franklin & Murfreesboro in College Grove.

4. How long have you been Sparkin'?
Today

5. What is your biggest weight loss obstacle?
Dealing with my ADD & ADHD. Sticking with a long term plan.

6. What is your biggest weight loss success and/or the biggest hurdle you've overcome?
I lost 60 lbs last year over about a 6 month period.

7. What are your goals for the 12-wk challenge (or your Spark goals if not in the challenge)?
To drop 30 lbs. I know that's more than the suggested 2/week but I'm sure with the water weight it will be ok.

Just having people to chat with who have similar goals helps.

I'm starting an organic farm.

Ah, well, this is kind of weird, but that was my name the first time I was married....I just like it because it is unusual even though I officially do go by either my maiden name or my current husband's name....see, I told you this is weird!

Hendersonville

4. How long have you been Sparkin'?
I've been on SparkPeople before but not in a long time...this time, since December 27, 2012.


5. What is your biggest weight loss obstacle?
Time...the problem that everyone else has! Time to plan meals, time to cook meals, exercise...as with many people, I get up early and work long hours. I get tired and then just want to "grab" dinner, which is usually not healthy. Sometimes I go for a month or two without going to the store because of time constraints...it is just hard but I know that I am not alone!

6. What is your biggest weight loss success and/or the biggest hurdle you've overcome?
The biggest success is getting to my goal weight and the biggest hurdle is gaining it back. Happens to a lot of us!

7. What are your goals for the 12-wk challenge (or your Spark goals if not in the challenge)?
My goals are to plan meals, grocery shop and cook. I also have a goal to walk daily.

8. What can we do to help you reach your goals?

Let's go recent. Last weekend we ate out a lot (which we often do). I stayed in range each day!

I've been eating healthier, cleaning more, and getting more active over the last several months.

**8. What can we do to help you reach your goals? ** Support, support, support! If I know I have people in my corner, cheering me on, people that remind me what I'm supposed to be doing, I'm much more likely to reach my goals. This group has always been great for that!

I joined in 2010 and lost some weight. Stopped using it and gained a lot. Now I really need to get serious!

5. What is your biggest weight loss obstacle?

Lack of support

6. What is your biggest weight loss success and/or the biggest hurdle you've overcome?

I lost a lost of weight in college. (gained it back plus 25) I lost a bunch about 2 years ago. (gained it back plus 35) So I know that weight loss is possible!

7. What are your goals for the 12-wk challenge (or your Spark goals if not in the challenge)?

I haven't joined any goals yet. But I want to do some activity everyday if only for 10 minutes, increase my water intake and develop better sleeping habits.

4. How long have you been Sparkin'? A little less than a month

5. What is your biggest weight loss obstacle? Myself! Staying motivated in weight loss efforts without becoming discouraged.

6. What is your biggest weight loss success and/or the biggest hurdle you've overcome? I had lost about 80 pounds and felt great. (although....somehow, 40 of that found it's way back to me!)

7. What are your goals for the 12-wk challenge (or your Spark goals if not in the challenge)? My goal is to lose 65 pounds and to get back into shape so that I am feeling good again! It will take way more than 12 weeks to get there, but you have to start somewhere!

8. What can we do to help you reach your goals? I think that this community helps just in the fact that it let's you know that you are not alone in your efforts. Encouragement is wonderful! :)

I logged over 1000 fitness minutes in May!

To get down to a healthy weight. I would like to lose about 65lbs.

I don't have very many friends and I feel very uninformed about events around town that I could participate in. Many times, I find out about events I would have liked to participate in when it is over or too late to sign up.

I love to read! Particularly sci-fi/fantasy novels. I like to vacate my life when reading.

1. What is your Name Name (What would you like us to call you?) Jen or Jennifer, only my mom calls me Jenny and it sounds weird at my age.

2. What is the story behind your User Name?
I graduate college the end of this year & I am an adult student; between starting a new chapter by reaching my dreams, my weight loss/health will reflect that-a new life altogether.

3. Where in the Nashville area do you live? Hendersonville area

4. How long have you been Sparkin'? Since Jan 2.

5. What is your biggest weight loss obstacle?
My work and school schedule, it sucks up 98% of my time and makes exercise and balanced meal-packing a challenge. I am also an emotional eater(ex. when stressed.)

6. What is your biggest weight loss success and/or the biggest hurdle you've overcome?
I lost 100 lbs on my own back in 1994, took about a year. Also quit smoking cold turkey New Year's Eve 2003 after being an off/on smoker for 25years. So I'm proof some New Year's resolutions do succeed.

7. What are your goals for the 12-wk challenge (or your Spark goals if not in the challenge)?
I want to be healthy and energetic so I can ENJOY MY LIFE! Tired of being sick & tired.

8. What can we do to help you reach your goals? Support and help with food/exercise questions.

9. Give us a random fact about you that'll help us get to know you better. I am a writer.

10. Have you ever tasted ear wax? WOW, no, yikes! and no burning desire to.

I was 200 lbs and now I'm 164lbs.

5. What is your biggest weight loss obstacle? Nursing school was fattening lol all that studying took away from activity. Have no problem sticking with diet or exercise. I love to behealthy. the hardest part is now I am not lossing as I used to be able to. One pound here and two there. then I have two weeks no loss. its frustrating before school I was running / walking seven miles a day felt wonderful and eating a macrobotic diet

6. What is your biggest weight loss success and/or the biggest hurdle you've overcome?
Biggest loss was when we found out I had a thyroid issue I gained weight for no reason it seemed. Then when I took synthoid and went on a juice diet I lost a lot of weight fast.


7. What are your goals for the 12-wk challenge (or your Spark goals if not in the challenge)?
I want to loose at least 20 before my 50th birthday october 17 then more after that till i reach my long term goal to125 pounds.


8. What can we do to help you reach your goals? Support & motivate.....

9. Give us a random fact about you that'll help us get to know you better. I am a fine artist graphic designer love gardening and restore muscle cars and drag racing which we do as much as we can.

10. Have you ever tasted ear wax? no omg how nasty but there was a weird post that went on for ever and ever on a car site that I post on. Id think that fast food would taste like ear wax if they didnt add all the harmful chemicals such as flavor enhancers so that we will acually eat that mess.

2. What is the story behind your User Name? This was my email address in college.

3. Where in the Nashville area do you live? Hillsboro Village

4. How long have you been Sparkin'? I've been on for a while but I have recently just started back up.

5. What is your biggest weight loss obstacle? Making time to exercise and cooking healthy food. I am a grad student and thus don't have much time so trying to fit everything into my schedule is hard.

What is your biggest weight loss obstacle? working as a gm of a fast food restaurant......getting stressed/busy with that plus 4 kids, i tend to result to grabbing a quick bite to eat when time allows-no matter how healthy(no structure whatsoever in nutritional routine).....or I run for a quick smoke.

2. What is the story behind your User Name? If I told ya, I'd have to kill ya. It's because I am aplus certified and it just kinda stuck. :)

5. What is your biggest weight loss obstacle? Food.... Actually, I would say exercising regularly and being consistant.

6. What is your biggest weight loss success and/or the biggest hurdle you've overcome? My biggest success is learning healthy habits -my hurdle that I have overcome is learning balance and portion control.

5. What is your biggest weight loss obstacle? Not eating properly and not enough money to make sure that I do.

3. Where in the Nashville area do you live? off Charlotte Pike near Nashville West

4. How long have you been Sparkin'? I've been a member for over a year with old username and about 6 months this time.

I'm finally waking up in the morning and thinking about going to the gym - but now it's "what exercise can I throw in the mix and not "OMG noooooo"!

I've had it since High School--we all dressed up as Characters from star wars and I was Han SOLO. HIGH FLYER just seemed to come naturally after that.

About 10 hours

lack of motivation, I like to drink a lot of juice(OJ), and a sedentary life style (I work on computers for a living).

well, about 4 years ago I lost 50lbs in 9 weeks-- Boot Camp for the Army National Guard.

exercise 3xweek for 10 minutes, get up to 10 pullups.

Just be the awesome group you seem to be!

cutting back on sweets has been the hardest yet most rewarding thing

I figured since I've gone to a couple events, I should probably let people get to know me a bit.

1. What is your Name (What would you like us to call you? In case you object to "Hey You")? Amber, though I've been known to reply to Hey You occasionally.

2. What is the story behind your User Name? I'm trying to turn myself into a different person. I want to get rid of the things that make me think negatively (like overeating and under-exercising) and be a person that I'm proud to be. Thus, The New Amber.

3. Where in the Nashville area do you live? Antioch

4. How long have you been Sparkin'? Off and on for a few years. This time around, since September.

5. What is your biggest weight loss obstacle? A natural laziness, sad to say. Rather than taking the time to fix myself something healthy, I'll run through McDonalds. Rather than motivate myself to get up and work out, I fritter away time until I don't HAVE time.

6. What is your biggest weight loss success and/or the biggest hurdle you've overcome? Getting started and writing my food and exercise down. I never used to think about what I'd put in my body, but now I'm keeping track of things.

7. What are your goals for the 12-wk challenge (or your Spark goals if not in the challenge)? Drinking 8 glasses of water a day, exercising 3 times a week, Making it a habit to do things I need to before I do things that I want to.

8. What can we do to help you reach your goals? The encouragement here definitely helps. Continuing to have times we can get together also helps a lot. If I'm among others that are trying to eat healthier or exercise more, it's easier for me to do the same.

2. What is the story behind your User Name? I am 6ft 6 so that’s the big part and people say the first thing they notice about me is my heart for others.

5. What is your biggest weight loss obstacle? Pasta and cooking. I love to cook so to stop cooking yummy things is hard for me.

2. What is the story behind your User Name? Its my married name (Ive only been married just over a year now)

3. Where in the Nashville area do you live? Antioch, according to the USPS.

4. How long have you been Sparkin'? Its been about a week or so. I had started this back years ago when I was still single, but I didnt keep up with it. Now, I have the time to do it and the motivation to keep with it.

5. What is your biggest weight loss obstacle? Work. More specifically, the availability of junk food at work. I work with a group of wonderful people who are all generous to a fault. Our breakroom is often stocked with donuts, pizza, home cooked goodies and the like. It is hard to resist, but I manage.

6. What is your biggest weight loss success and/or the biggest hurdle you've overcome?
I have finally learned how to eat. I had no idea I was not eatting enough, and now that I am I have already seen a pretty significant change (3lbs my first week) and that is extremely helpful.

7. What are your goals for the 12-wk challenge (or your Spark goals if not in the challenge)?
My goal is to fit into a bikini for the first time in my life. My husband and I picked a few designs out and I plan on being able to wear one. Hopefully, it will be on family vacation in July, but his side of the family lives near a river so if it takes an extra couple of weeks so be it. I will wear one!

8. What can we do to help you reach your goals? Inspiration an ideas to keep things from getting boring. Food ruts are the diet killer I face the most often. My husband is a creature of habit, he can eat the same things for days at a time an be perfectly happy. I cant. I have a good collection of weight watchers points based recipes that I pull out of, an I am always adding and sharing that collection.

9. Give us a random fact about you that'll help us get to know you better. I love vampires, ans almost all things vampire. A horror book buff and Trekkie as well.

5. What is your biggest weight loss obstacle? definitely emotional eating. I'm going thru a rough time right now and food is always there for me. also, I tend to eat the same unhealthy things over and over, as I have never really liked trying new foods. Obviously that has to change

5. What is your biggest weight loss obstacle? not enough time to eat properly. I stay busy with my job and often eat out of convenience and quickness.

6. What is your biggest weight loss success and/or the biggest hurdle you've overcome? I was running the bases during one of my softball games and actually picked up speed as I was running. Haven't been able to do that in years!

7. What are your goals for the 12-wk challenge (or your Spark goals if not in the challenge)? Not in the challenge, but am trying to reach a healthier weight so I'll have more energy to do the things I want.

8. What can we do to help you reach your goals? Encouragement is a big thing for me. Living alone I don't get much encouragement at all.

9. Give us a random fact about you that'll help us get to know you better. I used to be a competitive gymnast when I was younger. Was state champion one year for my age group. The total number of broken bones I've sustained over the years has risen to 15. Hoping that it stays there the rest of my life. Still love sports to this day - not a girly girl at all.

My name is Pat. My cousins came up with the name from a book years ago with Aunt Pitterpat. I have 2 cats. Hence pitterpatcats. I live in Donelson near the airport and the Percy Priest Dam. I have been sparking about 3 weeks. My biggest obstacle is food and not getting support from anyone. I don't know about the 12 week challenge. I walk my dog everyday and together we are increasing our walks. I am concerned about the winter months when it is icy with all the hills. I am trying to hurdle my belly fat and big sit upon. You can help me with motivation and help with my own recipes aw well as eating out. I enjoy books and work at a library. As a book person the only way to try earwax is with Harry Potter's Jelly Beans which has earwax as a flavor. It tastes very waxy. Pat

Kind of silly when I first signed up for internet it was from a local company in our town (can you believe they use to do that??) and the man turns to me and says what do you want to use for your user name? I was like I don't know and he was like well some people use a variation of their name. I just pulled the 1st thing I could think of off the top of my head and said foru2c and he was like huh? Of course he tried to spell it a different way, but I told him no...it needs to be foru2c.

Along with this new lifestyle of eating & exercise I gave myself a personal challenge and have been training the last 12 weeks for my first Half Marathon at the Country Music Half Marathon in Nashville on April 24th! It is something I never even thought about doing before and in 5 days I will be DOING it! (Walking, my knee could never stand the running.)

Needless to say I had 3 big dogs. Actually 2 big dogs and one little one that thinks she's big. One of my girls passed away 2 years ago.

Weekends with my dad (who's 91 and doesn't worry about what he eats) and friends that insist on buying me chocolate. Yes, I'm a chocoholic and have a hard time resisting if it's in my house.

Biggest success was losing the first 40 pounds. It's been really tough getting over a plateau, but I'm finally moving again :)

I lost 11 lbs. on weight watchers! I have learned all of the tools as far as eating is concerned and feel great!

That the mental block of there is not enough time to do what I want and need to do. I need to do this now not later but I can get 15 minutes in and not bemoan if I don't have an hour.

I would like to lose 15 lbs.

Reality checks, walking partners, healthy food suggestions for eating out. Motivation.

My name is Bonny (note, I changed the spelling when I was a kid and talked my mother into going along with it - it's almost legal now. I've used it for years anyway.)

Late night snacking

Lost forty pounds two years ago, changed habits, became more active. Gained twenty back in 2009 after getting Depo birth control shot to control endometriosis.

Lose two pounds a week by increasing my activity level and eating healthier.

Keep up the good information and motivating blogs.

I think this is day number 7, but I have to say I am really impressed by the support and the website.

I love the nightlife, I've got to boogie. See above. So not overindulging when I go out is the major obstacle for me.

I've been keeping my calories in check, even when I go out. The fact that I have done this for even a week is amazing to me.

I just had my first baby, 18 weeks ago.I am ready to lose my baby weight...plus some, and start our new life together.Healthy and happy.

I lived in the Donelson area of Nashville for years and just recently moved to a Suburb of Nashville.

About 19 days now! It has been amazing.

5. What is your biggest weight loss obstacle?
Staying consistent with my workouts and eating out.

I have been exercising consistently for three weeks now. That is the longest I have been comitted to anything other than my baby girl, in a long time.

I was born with Rosacea, and my mom said I was spotted like a ladybug, so she's called me Jennibug from birth!

working out. I hate working out. And I hate to cook, so fast food/eating out is all I know!

Actually, I'm in Murfreesboro, but Nashville is far more exciting.

not quite a year

I have to sit at a desk all day. it's awful!

I've had a few surgeries on my ankle and knee/leg. I got through therapy, and I want to get back into competition.

My spark goals are to lose a few more pounds while helping motivate my husband to work out.

2. What is the story behind your User Name? It's my nickname. It's something I picked when I was in highschool but has always been easy to find open on sites. I was a bit of a goth in high school (fallen) and I love faeries :)

4. How long have you been Sparkin'? 1 day. Still trying to figure it all out.

5. What is your biggest weight loss obstacle? Laziness and bad eating habits.

6. What is your biggest weight loss success and/or the biggest hurdle you've overcome? I lost a 10-15 lbs last year. However it was also a big hurdle because I lost it because of my depression. I was hardly eating anything and when I got my depression under control I gained it all back.

2. What is the story behind your User Name? It's my name.

3. Where in the Nashville area do you live? Antioch

4. How long have you been Sparkin'? I joined on 6/5 but I started the fitness and nutrition on 6/8.

5. What is your biggest weight loss obstacle? The diet! Who in the heck eats this much food? It's very hard for me to reach the minimum (1240) calorie count. I'm sure when I was eating unhealthy it was easy for me to eat much more than that but generally I was only eating one meal a day. I do not like eating and find it very easy to forget to eat. Now that I have to eat I'm more aware of the calories and I'm also exhausted from all the eating! LOL! My biggest temptation right now is to skip meals.

6. What is your biggest weight loss success and/or the biggest hurdle you've overcome? When I did L.A. Weightloss, I lost about 70lbs but I gained them back pretty fast. I'd like to lose the weight and more this time and permanently!

7. What are your goals for the 12-wk challenge (or your Spark goals if not in the challenge)? I'm still trying to find my way around this site so I haven't joined any challenges yet.

8. What can we do to help you reach your goals? I need motivation and accountability.

9. Give us a random fact about you that'll help us get to know you better. I love to write and make movies when I have the time.

10. Have you ever tasted ear wax? Yes. I was a pretty curious kid and I went through a phase where I wanted to know what things tasted like. I've got a list that makes most people wonder how I'm still alive. LOL!
