I've known I've had PCOS now for about 4 years. Metformin for almost 2 years. It works but I still have longer than normal cycles. Plus we found out my husband has very extremely low sperm counts. TTC has been frustrating. I am attempting to keep my weight down by trying to stay active and to eat healthy. Keeping myself healthy so that in our efforts to get my husband's counts up my body will be set for the perfect timing and environment for conception.
I am blessed that at 5'7" at my heaviest I have only been 155lbs. I am attempting a 125-130 range and am currently at 147, although I am at the top of the healthy weight chart I prefer the lower end of it. As you PCOS women understand, taking the pounds off is really tough! SparkPeople has been very effective at helping me keep my calories and intake in check. So hang in there, stick to your goals and the outcome will be yours to cherish! Its hard work and don't let anyone tell you different.
Since you are TTC I hope you are taking a pre-natal vitamin. This should assist in regeneration of hair growth in addition to providing your body with essential nutrients for conception. Hang in there, losing the weight is the best thing you can do for both. Remember to give it up to the Lord and he will take your troubles and set them free. Through Him who strengthens me, I can do all things!
